Aengelor is a Wood Elf from Vashabar, who was tasked with his group to track down King Nantharion after his true allegiances were revealed. Unfortunately, the Recollection found and killed the rest of his group. He can be encountered at small campsite near Hastrel Hollow.

Once you have the three relics—the Lamp of Clarity, Abolisher and the Skein of Secrets—that were originally used to imprison Ithelia, you will be able to go on the offensive against the Recollection and Shardborn. Beragon gets the idea of using the Skein of Secrets to track the usage of Staff of Many Paths, as it is currently in the hands of Nantharion. The Skein of Secrets will reveal two locations, Terthil Farm and Hastrel Hollow, and you are asked to investigate both.
When you approach Hastrel Hollow, you find Aengelor standing amid several bodies:
- Aengelor: "Careful, stranger. The ones who murdered my friends are close. They may return at any moment."
Talk with him to see what happened:
- "This camp is lost and my companions are dead. Wildburn will cover any trace of their existence. And the evidence of the Recollection's crimes."
- What happened here?
- "The Recollection happened. I was out scouting when they attacked our camp. Most of them were gone by the time I returned, which is the only reason I didn't die with my companions.
We came here to hunt our enemies, but we became the hunted instead." - Why were you were hunting the Recollection?
- "Greenspeaker Darolith told everyone in Vashabar about the false king and his wildburn seeds. She said we needed to find the Recollection and stop them from planting more seeds. We were but one group sent out.
But the Recollection found us first." - You said Recollection forces were close. Where?
- "A number of them went into the ruin to the east. I think they're still inside. I would go in after them, but there are too many for me. And my heart is heavy with grief over the loss of my companions."
- Is King Nantharion here?
- "Nantharion is no king of mine! Not anymore. Using corrupted magic like the wildburn? It's a betrayal of the Green. My companions felt that way, too.
I didn't see him here, stranger. But he could be inside the ruins."
In the Hastrel Hollow Shrine, you will find another Wildburn Seed and a memory of Nantharion and Ithelia talking about a place called Miscarcand. If you try talking to Aengelor after leaving the ruins.
- "I failed my companions. When they needed me, I wasn't here. The Recollection has much to answer for. And so do I."
