Hey, sorry if I messed anything up. Every page that I took the pre-release tags off of I've confirmed. I added the incomplete tag because there is more on the subject (obviously), but I can't remember any of it to add. Would it would be best just to stop doing that? Also, totally not sure if I'm doing this whole 'Talk' thing right lol — Unsigned comment by Mrpotatotrooper (talk • contribs) at 10:32 on 12 November 2011
- Hey there! No problem, this whole Skyrim phenomenon is pretty confusing. You din't really mess anything up, but it is a good idea to leave the pre-relase tags on for the moment. Even if you did confirm all the listed activities, the page still needs an awful lot of work so there's no real reason to change tags at this point, especially because there may be even MORE activities than listed. --Krusty 10:44, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
Candc4's NotesEdit
is it ok to start adding facts to talk pages im to lazy to write into pages, I call these comments candc4's notes and only add to the wiki----Candc4, Also known as the Man Inside the Sexy Leather Pants CT 01:38, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
- Good idea. We like confirmed information on the articles! Alternatively, you can just create a Sandbox and note away! :) --Krusty 01:52, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks I only work on xbox right now I'm working with Hod he goes to work at 8 or 9 but he won't go to work unless you break into his house, I think being in the same cell toggles his AI or something along that lines and them he remember to go to work----Candc4, Also known as the Man Inside the Sexy Leather Pants CT 01:59, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
EditsEdit
Sorry for the multiple edits. The server often times out when loading preview page and work is lost. Blackdove86 01:39, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
- No problem; basically, it's because we need to patrol a ridiculous amount of edits these days, under the same "time-out" circumstances. If you could just keep it in mind, then I'm a happy camper! --Krusty 01:45, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
Hey, Thanks KrustyEdit
I love this website, and you informing me that something might screw up the new things you are adding on may cause some problems helps me with this. From now on I will make sure I always do what you say, inform me if I do something else that might screw up the pages, see ya. -RANSOM922
Svaknir ChangesEdit
Hey, I'm the guy who made several changes to the Svaknir page. I was trying to get it to follow the general NPC template, but you seem to have reverted it to the previous version. My gripe with that version is that it describes the dungeon more than the NPC, who doesn't have enough material for an in-depth description in the first place. The page should be simpler and should instead link to the quest/dungeon walkthrough instead of rehashing it. If you don't mind, I want to revert the pages back to my changes (21:29, 25 November) and clean it up a bit more.

Quest NewsEdit
Hello, I'm Foreborn, a longtime viewer of UESP. I have potentially Wiki changing (less dramatic than it sounds) news. I've noticed that every quest article they have codes to skip to the next quest sage, I've even used them before. Along with that however there's always an explanation that you cannot go BACK quest stages. This is false however. I just learned a code that lets you reset quests to their beginnings as long as you have the quest ID. "resetquest <Quest ID>". I tested it in Skyrim, I am unsure if Oblivion and Morrowind can utilize that same code. I'd post my original source but I seem to remember Wikis are very picky about posting links. --Foreborn 20:22, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
- I added that to the skyrim quest notes, assuming it's correct since it worked in Fallout. I know of no way for that to work in Morrowind or Oblivion. Lukish_ Tlk Cnt 08:21, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
I suppose that may be possible. I had killed Sibbi Black-Briar (the guy in Riften Jail) before learning that he had a quest. When I resurrected him in the console, his quest dialogue wasn't present. So I found the ID of the quest and used that code to get the proper dialogue. If I remember correctly, I did not see a quest 'Started etc etc'. I had to use information from the quest to find my objective due to no quest maker, a Nord woman who also gave proper dialogue and I finally got a misc objective to return to Sibbi and either lie about her, or tell the truth. Then I returned, lied, and received my reward, and it said I completed the quest. I got my source from the Skyrim Nexus, type in 'Followers' in the search bar, look for the mod that keeps quest companions from overriding your regular companion. In it the author mentions a related quest and says if you've already done it to use that code. Perhaps you should try using it on that very quest? I haven't used the code any further, been too busy exploring caverns. I'm anxious to hear your results! :) Foreborn 17:32, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
Avrusa Sarethi PictureEdit
Hey, what was it about Media:SR-npc-AvrusaSarethi-Profile.png that you didn't like? Is there something I can do better next time? --Tgranvold 23:49, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
- Hey there! First of all, NPC images should always be square (1:1) and uploaded as .jpg's (see this section for details]]). Furthermore, the jpg-version of the image has the correct title, e.g SR-npc-Name_Surname.jpg. That is basically why I reverted to the old version. If you can make a new square version as a jpg, then you're good to go. Sorry! --Krusty 00:15, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
- Oops! Thanks for the link to the guidelines :) --Tgranvold 00:56, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
Bug Fix: Darkness Returns Quest for SkyrimEdit
Sorry but I'm a bit new at this whole contributing thing so I was hoping an admin could look into this and add it in for me. I found a way to fix the bug where Karliah leaves the room promptly after placing the skeleton key in the hole. Before placing the key into the hole, I summoned up a conjuring a Dremora Lord(a simple wolf would work too), and attacked it to the point of it being hostile towards me. Don't kill it! Instead, while its attempting to kill you, place the key in it's hole and watch as Karliah runs around in circles out of fear but eventually stops when the time runs out on the creature. Tip: You cannot heal or attack the creature while Nocturnal is out and speaking, so I just played a little Ring Around The Rosie with the creature to let it time out. I hope this helps others that had this problem.
Black StarEdit
"What is this place?" There is a simple guideline that follows all "Location" rules as to a description. There are also sorcerers in this area so please do not delete the information provided when it is nessisary and essential to full disclosure. We dont want to leave the wiki users saying "why didnt you tell me about them!" Thanks Azure_King 02:25, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry, the edit summary was not meant for you personally. I know that the term Military Fort is a bad one, but at least it added the Star Interior to a Category for easy reference to what it is called in the game files. My edit summary merely summed up your own question on the talk page because; what should this type of place be called? I don't like Alternate Dimension or even the current Worldspace, but honestly - we could categorize the place as Strange Worlds with Pointy Blue Crystals for all I care - we'd still get a red link at the bottom of the page, and yet another place without a proper Category. Nevertheless, while I think it's an Oblivion World, we have too many pages to deal with right now, so let's leave it at Worldspace and be on our way. --Krusty 06:22, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
Naming conventions for images?Edit
I've been uploading lots of images to the wiki lately, and I noticed in the recent changes that you moved a page to the "correct file name." I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't creating more work for you down the line and wanted to get some clarification on how to correctly name and categorize the images that I upload. Normally I would try to find this information myself, but I can't seem to find the information I seek. Thanks in advance.--Gage (talk • contribs) 09:55, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
- Take a look here. While that section claims that there are 'no rules', there's actually a few. NPC images will always be SR-npc-Name.jpg, quest images will be SR-quest-Name.jpg - and place page is SR-place-Name.jpg. And so on. --Krusty 10:02, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you. It appears I have a few images to move.--Gage (talk • contribs) 17:38, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

- I've started doing them, I can't do the whole process because i'm a Patroller and I leave a redirect behind. Which I can't delete. But, I can request an Admin (if there is one on at the time) to just delete the whole bunch via IRC --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 18:04, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
- For now, just leave them all as is. We have wrongly named images all over the place (not only in Skyrim), so let's just wait - it's a long, tedious job and it will clog up the Recent Changes, so there's no need to start now. Just remember the rules for future uploads. --Krusty 18:06, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Latest edit of Glory of the DeadEdit
Hi. You removed my latest edit of Glory of the Dead, where I added a note pertaining to the ability to have a follower during this quest. I added this note because the text says, "With Alea the Huntress as your only follower, ..." at a certain point, which I thought might make people think she becomes your follower for this quest, as Vilkas did in the previous quest. Your edit note says, "Let's not mention every quest where you can use followers". That wasn't my intent, and that's not what I'm doing. I was trying to clarify something I thought was misleading and/or confusing about the article. Besides, why not add information like this for quests where an inexperienced player might not realize that one of the NPCs attached to the quest is not acting as an optional follower? This is an informational endeavor, is it not? Maybe we need to change the wording of the article? BTW, thanks for leaving an edit note...I really appreciate it when people do that. Eganio 18:27, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, I see what you mean. Still, it's not worth mentioning that you can use another follower than Aela. Even if the article sounds misleading, using followers not given to you "by" the quest is entirely optional and depends on how you play the game. The walkthrough should always tell the basic story, not each and every possibility. In this case, Aela will be your only follower when Farkas admits his problem with spiders. That's the story of Glory of the Dead - e.g. if we start adding "With Aela (and your dog) as the only followers", we might as well tell people how to battle enemies. --Krusty 18:39, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- Alright, that sounds reasonable. I see your point. Thanks for the nice discussion. Eganio 19:34, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
Raminus PolusEdit
Managed to 'complete' Raminus. All his dialogue should be there. The only thing that I cannot seem to find out is if he says anything to once you're expelled. For some reason, my game won't let me be expelled. I have applied for Recent Changes Patroller, do you think I'm able? Thanks. --Manic 12:21, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
StubsEdit
Hi, read your msg:
Regarding essential/respawn only being filled in if yes, then why does that section show up regardless? I'd assume that confirmation, whether positive or negative, is more valuable information than nothing at all.
Regarding stubs there are a few NPCs that literally have no lines and only appear during a certain quest. If the information on when and where they appear is there, what is the value in keeping it a stub? Wouldn't you want only the NPCs that can actually be expanded upon in that list?
Both of these points seem counterproductive to a complete, consistent database of information that this wiki represents. --tm
- Hello. Sorry, but I'm 100% sure we don't have a single "finished" NPC page for Skyrim yet. Even for dead NPCs, info can always be added - as I mentioned, with expanded quest info, some background, bit of inventory if important and so on. Two sentences will never make an NPC page non-stubby. For the edit summary, if you leave it blank, the summary box will just be that smaller on the article. See my change here as an example. Anyways, I understand it's confusing, but bear with us in these chaotic times of SR madness. :) --Krusty 00:31, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
console commands to turn off the dragon attacksEdit
I am kind of at a loss as to where to put the console commands to turn off the dragon attacks in Skyrim. I don't want to bloat the console command tables, as they is already bursting. It is also less a command but two global variables that are changed by the "set" command.
Would it be ok to add another section to the Console Commands page, which details the game's various variables?
I added the codes to the dragon article earlier, because the random attacks are a huge (well, at least constant) aspect of the game.
Thanks for any advice in advance!
Geistertanz 16:23, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
- There is alreday some documentation at Skyrim:Console#set. It should be documented like Skyrim:Console#getAVinfo, with the documentation of the global variables going elsewhere, probably some TES5MOD page. Till we figured out where exactly, it would do to document them in a collapsed table like Skyrim:Console#fw, I guess. --Alfwyn 14:00, 13 December 2011 (UTC)

Explain this to me.Edit
How does "When you are told to question the witnesses, stay away from Hjerim. Approaching the front door" equal "If you pick your way into Hjerim without activating the quest"? Did you actually read what I wrote, or just see the word 'clear' and assume I'm dumb? Not to mention that doing what I did does not "leave you with no witnesses or map markers for the remainder of the quest", so it's not even the same thing. Thwgatrostys 02:41, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
- You'l have to read the Notes and Bugs sections in their entirety. I know it's not really the best solution, but it will have to do until the CK arrives. No, you CAN'T pick the lock before meeting the quest requirements (mentioned as Note#1), so the quest will already be initiated when you enter Hjerim, although 'hidden', because you have yet to find the graveyard sequence. That's the whole point - Hjerim can't be accessed without the quest running. Additionally, I also tried your technique (and I even sat trough the crappy YouTube walkthroughs) and I couldn't find any map markers whatsoever. If you can post an exact description on what you did (on this talk page), I'll check it again. For now, your addition only added more confusion to an already problematic quest page, and we don't need that. --Krusty 06:55, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
- Okay. What happened is, I had no idea that quest existed, so I started my usual routine of breaking into every house, not having happened by the graveyard yet. When I went in, the quest started and said I should look for clues, and I thought that was what was supposed to happen. (The Morrowind quest functioned like that, after all.) So I looked for clues, then suddenly decided to look here, and realized I'd skipped part. I did not have a quest marker to get help from the guy in the keep, but I went there anyway, and he answered my questions, at which point I got two quest markers like normal to the curios guy and the harridan, and I'm proceeding from there. (I assume the reason there wasn't a quest marker to the guy in the keep is that marker was assigned at an earlier stage and left on, since he's supposed to be your "go-to guy" for the quest.)
- So, my way, you skip ahead in the quest, but it otherwise functions normally (with the exception of the body being shoved into a corner of the graveyard instead of in the morgue). Thwgatrostys 08:56, 15 December 2011 (UTC)

It IS possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages.Edit
Hi,
I just noticed that you have the "It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages" on footer of every quest page. That is false, it is entirely possible to do that.
- 1) setobjectivedisplayed quest stage 0
- 2) setobjectivedisplayed quest stage 1
- All done, that stage has now been "un-completed". It has worked for me every time I've been stuck. Obviously it could break stuff, so it should be used with care.
Example: I have the quest item that I need to hand over to NPC but NPC won't recognize the item.
- 1) drop the item
- 2) do the commands
- 3) that stage has been un-completed and the quest arrow is pointing to the item on the ground. pick it up and quest progresses.
- Using the console does do that, but that is only for PC players. During normal gameplay you are not able to uncomplete quest stages. EST•E•C 01:33, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
-
- The note is regarding console commands, so that's irrelevant. --Legoless 01:45, 26 December 2011 (UTC)

Discussion edittingEdit
Hello Krusty, as a new user, I'm a bit of a fool and I didn't see an answer to my question while rummaging through the help files (could be blind or such). Would it be in bad taste to remove things like this from a discussion page? [1]
- Not at all. It qualifies as nonsense, and you are most welcome to revert such things - just remember to write an appropriate edit summary. Oh, and I reverted your example - thanks for pointing it out. :) --Krusty 22:17, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
