Welcome!Edit

Hello Beezer1029! Welcome to UESPWiki! It's great when we get new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:

If you would like to spice up your userpage, click here for a list of userboxes you can use, including a guide to making your own.

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! Forfeit (talk) 19:59, 20 December 2013 (GMT)

OHRPEdit

Hey Beezer, just noticed one of your edits on the Recent Changes page, when you make changes to Oblivion House Pages can you add your name to the Project template at the top of the page, thanks. --Kiz(email - talk) 18:30, 27 January 2014 (GMT)

Also, I think it is great that you are helping out. One thing I would like to point out though is that if the location is only one zone, it really doesn't need its own header on the page. The description of the location can just be built into the intro. If this contradicts something on the OBHRP page, feel free to completely ignore me! Jeancey (talk) 22:35, 28 January 2014 (GMT)
Oh and another side note, the description parameter is transcluded to other pages when it is called in the placelink template, so it should only be one mediumish sentence of a really basic description of the location. Any other parts to the description can just follow the template on the same line, that way it will appear as the same paragraph on the page. Jeancey (talk) 22:44, 28 January 2014 (GMT)
Will do! Yes - was trying to follow the OBHRP Place Summary Template as well as the Task List expectations. Using the Pennus Mallius' House on the Pages Requiring Final Review as an example of how the page should be laid out, etc. I appreciate the help!--Beezer1029 15:54, 29 January 2014 (GMT)
I think that's fine for multiple zone houses, but I think for ones with a single zone, i.e. one room, It doesn't really need the separate heading. Jeancey (talk) 15:57, 29 January 2014 (GMT)
Another, another, side note would be that if you do this can you re-join the two bits of texts to like they were before as they are still currently split. --Kiz(email - talk) 16:24, 29 January 2014 (GMT)
Will do! Although you might have beat me to it? Thanks! Are the other houses I did ok? I'm having trouble with apostrophes in hyperlinks...--Beezer1029 17:05, 29 January 2014 (GMT)
I did those you did in the past hour, if theres any more I haven't but i'll check through them. --Kiz(email - talk) 17:07, 29 January 2014 (GMT)
The apostrophe issue is because you seem to be using a different character than a normal apostrophe. A normal apostrophe is straight up and down (') whereas you are using a slanted apostrophe (which looks like a comma, but up high). While this difference might not seem that great, they are completely different characters, so using the wrong one in a link is no different than if you used an asterisk. You need to use the straight up and down apostrophe on the wiki. Jeancey (talk) 17:17, 29 January 2014 (GMT)

() Alternatively this works: Bazur Gro-Gharz's House. The apostrophe is:

&#39 ;

You just remove the space from 9 and ; and it codes and apostrophe, just incase you can't insert a regular apostrophe using that character though you have insert the name twice in the link (see code of this edit). --Kiz(email - talk) 17:39, 29 January 2014 (GMT)

Awesome- thanks Jeancey and Kiz. Am fluent in html - the wiki mark-up is taking some getting used to.--Beezer1029 22:15, 29 January 2014 (GMT)
Aw shucks, you're using my page(s) as example(s). If you need anything, let me know! I did a lot of house pages this summer and I can probably help with just about anything. Probably. •WoahBro►talk 22:24, 29 January 2014 (GMT)
Hee Hee - wanna throw your hat in for project lead?--Beezer1029 14:30, 30 January 2014 (GMT)
Just a heads up, you only need to manually link your username in the OBHRP template (e.x. [[User:Beezer1029|Beezer1029]]) if you are typing something in addition afterwards (such as already written etc.). Otherwise you can just type in Beezer1029 and that's it! It's not a big deal at all or anything, just a heads up! •WoahBro►talk 19:03, 6 March 2014 (GMT)
Ah - good to know. Just following an example, but its nice to not have to type the whole thing out!--Beezer1029 (talk) 19:50, 6 March 2014 (GMT)

ContractionsEdit

Hi Beezer1029! First, I'd like to thank you for your recent edits to a number of pages. They've really cleaned up the tone and made it sound more professional. Great job! Having said that, though, while we generally consider ourselves encyclopedic, we don't usually go so far as to forbid contractions like a more professional encyclopedia would. We kind of like to hit the middle ground on most of our articles, where they look professional, but sound colloquial. Robin Hood  (talk) 03:52, 21 February 2014 (GMT)

Gotcha. Sorry - old habit!--Beezer1029 (talk) 13:26, 21 February 2014 (GMT)

Great Lift at AlftandEdit

Hi, I reverted your changes to Great Lift at Alftand, as your description was about Alftand. See the online map for the two different map markers. Maybe you want to merge some of the content into the Alftand article though. --Alfwyn (talk) 14:47, 13 March 2014 (GMT)

Ok. So the lift article should just describe the lift structure itself? --Beezer1029 (talk) 15:35, 13 March 2014 (GMT)
There is a lift at Alftand too - the one you described. But the "Great Lift at Alftand" is a wholly separate location. See this this map link. --Alfwyn (talk) 16:47, 13 March 2014 (GMT)
Ack - I can't believe I went to the wrong place! Thanks!!--Beezer1029 (talk) 17:30, 13 March 2014 (GMT)

Whaddaya mean you're a female?Edit

Just saw your "Surprise" userbox. You clearly don't understand the rules of the internet: There are No Girls on the Internet! It stands to reason, therefore, that you are not, in fact, a female. ;) Robin Hood  (talk) 23:01, 28 March 2014 (GMT)

Ah - that's explains a lot, then. Thanks for clearing that up!--Beezer1029 (talk) 00:24, 29 March 2014 (GMT)

Deepwood Redoubt redundancy?Edit

Hi, I've just seen your update on the Deepwood Redoubt place page where you have removed the link for a potion of magicka with the comment redundant and am confused as I can't see that having been linked previously in the article, and am wondering if I'm confused about when to link or something? Cheers. Biffa (talk) 22:34, 8 April 2014 (GMT)

Hey - I just removed it as there is a link to a potion of minor magicka in an early paragraph. Links to potion of magicka and minor potion of magicka basically link to the same place; really just trying to streamline to the overall "magicka potion" descriptors--Beezer1029 (talk) 23:10, 8 April 2014 (GMT)

Lights Out!Edit

On your Lights Out quest you've noted that the items on deck and shore are free to take if you leave them until you've spoken & Kill the sister, however unless you kill the marauders on deck and shore before entering these items will disappear with the marauders while you are below deck. Biffa (talk) 18:07, 30 May 2014 (GMT)

Ah - good to know. I actually did not write the walkthrough, just checked it over; but did not play through that part. Is this noted in the Notes section?--Beezer1029 (talk) 19:30, 30 May 2014 (GMT)
It's on the place page, not sure about quest walkthrough as trying to concentrate on places primarily atm, though really should stick my head above the parapet sometime and give other page types a go. Didn't want to go barging in on this one as not read up on SQRP or whatever it is. Biffa (talk) 20:51, 30 May 2014 (GMT)
Thanks for the heads-up. I am trying to recreate it now...--Beezer1029 (talk) 21:36, 30 May 2014 (GMT)

TexasEdit

Get out while you still can! Texas is far too hot. >_> Then again, it's only 95F here in Austin today... I suppose it could be worse. *walks off mumbling to himself* ~DimeCadmium...!!1! 21:34, 19 June 2014 (GMT)

Ha - don't worry - It will be worse... Got August to look forward to. I've been in Houston all my life and its weather you can wear. And yes - I'm bugging out to Maine tomorrow - high of 72 - pure bliss. BTW - glad to see a fellow Texan on the site!--Beezer1029 (talk) 22:29, 19 June 2014 (GMT)
