Featured Images are images the wiki's users deem to be of the highest quality and should be held up as an example for other images. Images are nominated for this status below. Users then review the nominees, keeping in mind UESP's image standards, and place their vote.
For an image to be eligible for Featured status, it must be used in a UESP article. This is to prevent specially taken beauty shots from stealing the limelight.
A gallery of older Featured Images can be found here. Similarly, the archives of previous nominations can be found here. Note that not all failed nominations are included. High-quality articles can be nominated for featured status at Featured Articles.
Featured Image Process
Nomination
Any registered member (once autoconfirmed) can nominate any image at any time. Nominated images should be of high quality and meet the wiki's image standards.
To nominate an image, list it at the bottom of this page with a three-tier heading, (===Example===
), and briefly explain why you think the image should be given featured status.
Example:
SR-quest-Dragon Rising 05.jpg
This is another great image. It appears cinematic, which is rare for the Elder Scrolls series.

Voting
After an image has been nominated, any registered member (once autoconfirmed) can vote to support or oppose each nomination. Each member can only vote once for a given image, but a member may change their vote by striking out the original vote and replacing it with the revised vote.
To vote on an image, state whether you support or oppose the image for featured image status. A vote should be in bold, and all votes must be signed. For example:* '''Support''': <Comment> --~~~~
or* '''Oppose''': <Comment> --~~~~
Commenting with your vote is optional, but if you oppose a nomination, please state how the image must be improved to get your support for featured status.
If you are not yet ready to vote but would still like to add your thoughts, you may use:
* '''Comment''': <Comment> --~~~~
or* '''Question''': <Question> --~~~~
And fill in your concerns or questions.
Decisions
UESP Administrators will periodically make decisions on image nominations. Decisions will only be made if:
- The image has been nominated for more than seven days.
- Five or more votes have been placed.
Nominations not meeting these criteria will be left open until a decision can be reached.
Images whose nominations pass will receive featured image status on the front page for two weeks (which may be extended up to one month if there is a shortage of images), and receive a small bronze star ( ) on the top right corner. If an image achieves featured status before the present featured image's time expires, it must wait its turn.

TR3-quest-Hunting an Ogrim.jpg
Great action shot for Morrowind (actually Tamriel Rebuilt) against an enemy you don't often see and an encounter you less often witness. With this side-by-side battle posture, it looks all but hopeless for the Dunmer to kill the hulking ogrim, but we're hoping he pulls it off.

- Support: A compelling scene that's pretty well framed: I dig it! -MolagBallet (talk) 19:37, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: Not to sound like a stickler, but have we ever had a mod image featured before? Is there precedence to keep doing these, and is the requirement solely that it was an image taken for the wiki and not somewhere else? The Rim of the Sky (talk) 19:41, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
- Reply: We have not from my perusal through the galleries yesterday. I see no reason why we can't or shouldn't. Tamriel Rebuilt has well over 1000 articles on the wiki and the Modspace Project has effectively removed all restrictions on documentation of mods. This is a good way to lightly feature that. Without digging deeper, you wouldn't even know this isn't vanilla Morrowind. —Dillonn241 (talk) 20:18, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
- Update: Due to the very long period this nomination has been up, mostly over its modded nature and votes being split, I've opened up a community portal discussion to resolve for good whether we should allow modded images. We can probably close the nomination after the discussion is over. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 20:21, 8 April 2025 (UTC)

Oppose: The use of graphical mods has been a sticking point in the past. Featuring an image from a gameplay mod takes this a step further, and it's a step I'm not particularly comfortable with. The wiki is still primarily dedicated to documenting official content. —Legoless (talk) 13:16, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Oppose: As has been said. Mindtrait0r (talk) 21:23, 28 December 2024 (UTC)- Support: Rim's above-mentioned Community Portal discussion is favoring allowing mod images to be featured. With that in mind, I support, though if consensus changes I will re-assess this vote. Mindtrait0r (talk) 17:38, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support: It is a cool little scene -Tarponpet (talk) 23:47, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
- Conditional Support: I'll support it on the condition that its clearly noted as modded, and that that modded content screenshots do not have anything else modded in that is not from the mod itself. This is to avoid confusing anything that is not from the mod as if it was part of the mod. --Analeah Oaksong (talk) 17:59, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose: I do not think the content of the screenshot is very compelling, the setting is bland and the scene is not that exciting. The fact that is from a mod does not have any bearing on my vote, I do not feel it would be feature-worthy even if it was from the vanilla game. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 19:39, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
ON-quest-Planemeld Obverse.jpg
I enjoy the composition on this one. The pose and angle are pleasing, and the background provides a glorious sense of negative space with the jagged rocks and the anchor against the grey sky in the background. The blurring of the background provides focus on the foreground while giving us the vestige of interesting scenery. The background is visible, but it doesn't outshine the foreground. There's also more of the background on the right, and less behind the portal: the portal is bright, so it draws our attention, but the visual weight of the blues on the right balances that out. The portal anchors our sight, but the glowing crystals, the portal in the sky, and Sister Terran's face provide landmarks for us to soak in, guiding our vision across the canvas with eye-catching ease. The warm lighting from the portal also contrasts nicely against all the blues and greys.

- Support: I can't take much credit, the framing is all due to the dialogue window. I just had to hide the UI for this shot. It's an interesting composition all the same! —Legoless (talk) 18:05, 5 March 2024 (UTC)
- Support: Great effects. —Dillonn241 (talk) 02:11, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: Oh my, it appears I replaced the image mid-nomination without realizing it. The new version is higher resolution but lacks the same lighting that makes the original look cool. Should I restore it? I'll try to check my 2015 hard drives for something closer to the original lighting while having an HD resolution. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 20:24, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
- Support: Nice lighting Weroj (talk) 10:46, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose: I like the capture, but I don't like how high-definition the crystals are in contrast with the out-of-focus background. Mindtrait0r (talk) 17:38, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose: Agreed with Mintrait0r here, the blur makes it look a bit off. --Analeah Oaksong (talk) 17:59, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
ON-place-Skyreach Hold.jpg
A foreboding capture with great lighting and weather.
Support: As nominator. Mindtrait0r (talk) 21:37, 28 December 2024 (UTC)- Oppose: I emailed Tib for clarification on if they used graphical mods to enhance this image. Pending a reponse I withdraw this nomination. Mindtrait0r (talk) 17:38, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support: The amazing visuals of Craglorn have long been etched into my mind, I'm surprised we haven't featured such a good shot already The Rim of the Sky (talk) 22:52, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
- Support: I like the contrast between the sky and the land; it creates a very striking visual. — Ohnoitsmangofett (talk) 02:36, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
- Support: Good angle Weroj (talk) 10:46, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose: The contrast is too high for the skybox compared to how Craglorn looks in-game. I think this image was taken with a third party filter or had its colours digitally manipulated. —Legoless (talk) 01:53, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose: So close to great, but I agree with Legoless that the sky doesn't look correct. —Dillonn241 (talk) 23:49, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose: Agreed with the lighting looking to manipulated and out of place. --Analeah Oaksong (talk) 17:59, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Comment: Per the image policy, it seems that stuff like increasing the brightness, color correction, and changing the contrast are all allowed, and a lot of images on the wiki use these changes, so I don't think any digital manipulation done in post should be enough to disqualify this image. However, if the use of graphical mods/add-ons was active when this screenshot was taken, that may be enough depending on how much the mod changes things. Perhaps we should wait for confirmation on whether any mods were used. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 00:33, 12 April 2025 (UTC)
ON-quest-Silk and Shadow 02.jpg
I'm quite fond of this shot. Not just because of the framing and lighting, but the circumstances it was taken under. You're supposed to view this scene from a grate way high above the boss arena. By having one person stand by the door while someone else kills the boss and pulls the lever, you can waltz right on in and watch this meeting up close.
- Support: As nominator. —MolagBallet (talk) 00:00, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
- Support: I remember 9 years ago I tried to take this same shot but couldn't figure it out haha. Difficulty aside, the framing and contents of the shot are all very nice, its quite cinematic. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 00:23, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- Support: Looks good Weroj (talk) 10:46, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
- Weak Oppose: I appreciate the difficulty of the shot and the spider looks cool. Apart from that, it's a little hard to tell what's going on. Changing my mind based on Blowthemandown's comment. —Dillonn241 (talk) 23:49, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose: Definitely hard to tell what's going on. The audience at the spider show is waving their red glowsticks, but one guy accidentally broke his open and spilled it all over himself, and his two friends are trying to figure out what to do about it? Also the colors, all grey on grey. The whole dungeon is like that, to be fair, though there are places that do neat things with light and shadow. Not here, though. Blowthemandown (talk) 17:46, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
- Reply: The summary on the filepage describes what is going on (Geel-Ma is murdered by Tsatva-Lan, and his essence is sapped by the Spiderkith.), but without context, I still think its easy to tell that the Spiderkith henchmen are performing a spell of some sort on the collapsed Argonian. As such, perhaps we could give it a descriptive caption when its featured. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 20:21, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
PC3-place-Garlas Agea 01.jpg
A well composed shot of Garlas Agea as depicted in Project Cyrodiil. The ruin is an iconic landmark, easily seen from most locations in the mod.
- Support: As nominator. — Ohnoitsmangofett (talk) 02:28, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
- Support: Quite nice for Morrowind Cyrodiil Weroj (talk) 10:46, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose (conditionally): Since you gave us three Province Cyrodiil photos to consider, and there's no way we're featuring all of them, I have to say no to this one. While awesome looking, the photo has little contrast to set the ruins apart from the landscape. Turning on full MGE XE or OpenMW shadows would help. (Conditional: if the Port Quarter Saint Bendu Square photo fails to pass, consider this my Support for this photo.) —Dillonn241 (talk) 23:49, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support: This is a nice landscape shot, I'm a sucker for tropical pictures. I've also opened up a community portal discussion to resolve for good whether we should allow modded images if there are others hesitant to vote for this photo due to its modded nature. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 20:21, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
PC3-place-Port Quarter Saint Bendu Square.jpg
A nice shot of Bendu Olo's statue in Project Cyrodiil's Anvil. It also shows off the unique architectural style seen throughout the city.
- Support: As nominator. — Ohnoitsmangofett (talk) 02:28, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
- Support: It does show the architecture nicely and Bendu is a cute Weroj (talk) 10:46, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
- Support: I feel it's appropriate to celebrate the release of this new expansion with a featured photo, despite it probably being over a year too late by then. This is the best of the three photos you gave us, in my opinion. —Dillonn241 (talk) 23:49, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support: A pretty cool photo of a town square, feels very lively. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 20:21, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
PC3-interior-Temple of Dibella Estetica.jpg
An image of Dibella's statue inside Anvil's Temple of Dibella Estetica from Project Cyrodiil. The statue's towering size and its framing between the ivy-clad pillars evokes a sense of grandeur befitting the Divine.
- Support: As nominator. — Ohnoitsmangofett (talk) 02:28, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose: Doesn't seem that special Weroj (talk) 10:46, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose: Agreed that this is the most boring of the three proposed Province Cyrodiil featured photos. —Dillonn241 (talk) 23:49, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
- Weak Oppose: I love the statue itself and the vines but the lighting on this is super flat and the rest of the temple is too monotonous in color. I don't think its a strong enough candidate to be featured. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 20:21, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
ON-trap-Watcher Sentry.jpg
A screenshot I took for ESO's Traps page like many there, but this specific one somehow looks way better, as if it was a render but it is really just a basic screenshot I took in-game while in a hurry to not get attacked by mobs (which is 90% of my screenshots lol). So yeah, this is an Apocrypha Chroma Incognito's style image featuring a Watcher taken to show it scouring the ground with its green gaze.
