Page NameEdit
This page was intentionally created at Skyrim:Achievements instead of Skyrim:Xbox_360_Achievements (see this discussion). In Oblivion, achievements may have only been available to Xbox players (at least until recently), but Skyrim is going to also have PS3 trophies, as well as achievements for PC players over Steam. I think we should just have a single page documenting the achievements/trophies for all three platforms, instead of somehow trying to maintain three separate pages covering the same topic. Therefore, it makes more sense for the page to simply be named Achievements -- with a redirects to the page from Xbox_360_Achievements and P3_Trophies.
Does anyone mind if I move the page back to its original name, and also modify the page introduction to make it clear it documents all three flavours of achievements? --NepheleTalk 01:04, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
- I assume this is from the demo from that convention a while back?--98.87.71.87 01:14, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

- Yes i deliberatley put it under achievements instead of xbox 360 achievements so i wouldnt mind it being moved back to skyrim:achievements, as for making it ps3 friendly (im not to sure about pc) we can just add another row to the table to say if its bronze or gold when we know. (I plead LazynessEddie The Head 05:36, 5 October 2011 (UTC))
ImagesEdit
I've just realised that the green and white borders around the achievement icons aren't supposed to be there. The effort of redownloading the images, cropping them and then reuploading them is too much for me, but I thought I should point it out in case anyone's in the mood to fix them. --Legoless 19:09, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

making it ps3 readyEdit
If its allright with everyone im going to add a row to the collum and title it "trophy type" so we can add it easily when we know what what types they will be (I plead LazynessEddie The Head 04:43, 6 October 2011 (UTC))
OrganizationEdit
My thoughts for overall organization of achievements within Skyrim is basically that each achievement should have a redirect that points to the article where the reader can find full details on how to obtain the achievement. In general, I think, those full details should not be covered on the Achievements page itself.
The main reason why I think we need to do things differently in Skyrim than in Oblivion, is that in Oblivion all of the achievements were tied to completing a quest. Therefore, in Oblivion it was trivial to simply link to the appropriate quest and say 'read the quest page for details'. Skyrim, on the other hand, has a lot of achievements that are not related to quests, and I think we should decide ahead of time how we want to provide details on those achievements.
Even though some of those achievements may seem self-explanatory, in the long run I think readers are inevitably going to want extra details. For example, 'Explorer -- Discover 100 locations' sounds simple enough at first. Nevertheless, we're probably going to need to detail what exactly qualifies as a "location" -- probably with a list of specific types of places (cities, barrows, mines, caves, etc.) that qualify. Just saying "It's any place that shows up as an icon on your map" isn't going to help readers who've found 99 locations and are desperately trying to figure out where specifically they can go to get to 100. We're going to need to tell readers where in their statistics they can find their current location count, and what they can do to figure out which specific places have already been added into that count. There may be bugs with the location count that need to documented, etc.
The upshot is that for each achievement, there are potentially going to be far more details than can reasonably be provided on the main Achievements page. Furthermore, readers are likely to complain if details of how to obtain the achievements are spelled out as part of the list. That's why I think we need redirects to establish where full documentation of each achievement should be provided.
As an example I set up Skyrim:Adept ('Reach Level 10'), pointing to Skyrim:Leveling#Achievements. At the moment, that section of the Leveling page doesn't provide any details, but achievement-specific details can be added there as they become available. Furthermore, the rest of the page provides all the general information necessary about how to level up -- so for readers specifically interested in that one Achievement, it's a more useful page than the main achievements list. The redirect is also included in the category Category:Skyrim-Achievements, which should therefore end up having one entry for each achievement. If we go this route, the name of each achievement on Skyrim:Achievements could just be made into a link to the redirect.
Any thoughts? --NepheleTalk 16:41, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
- sounds good, but we may want to have a seperate page for some achievements like Hero of the People and Hard Worker because they wont have any specific part of a page they will at the most have a couple of sentences on them. And for the quest ones just having a link to the quest page will be enough (I plead LazynessEddie The Head 16:51, 7 October 2011 (UTC))

- Can someone start working on a description for the 'One with the Shadows' Achievement. It's the only one I'm missing and I know I'm not the only one who needs it 68.109.194.141 03:32 24 November 2011
Daedric artifact achievementsEdit
Shouldn't the daedric artifact based achievments link to the Daedric quest page, as it says where to get said artifacts?--68.109.194.141 12:08, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
TotalsEdit
I've removed the "Total" section from the bottom of the table. The Platinum Trophy now has its own section, and the total amount of Gamer Points is already listed at the top of the page. The "Total" line also looked quite out-of-place. --Legoless 12:53, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
Question: Master CriminalEdit
Does my bounty need to be 1000 in all nine holds at once to be a master criminal? Or can I go about systematically earning and clearing a bounty in each hold before proceeding to the next? — Unsigned comment by 24.76.93.238 (talk) at 08:52 on 19 December 2011
- I thought that you needed 1000 in each hold at the same time, however, when i went for that achievement, i managed to get it before i had visited each hold, so it seems like you only need to get a bounty of 1000 in a hold at a point; you can clear the bounty but still get the achievement, but feedback on this would be nice (Eddie The Head 08:56, 19 December 2011 (UTC))
-
- Could anybody figure out what exactly you have to do for this achievement? --Killfetzer 22:56, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

-
- To get this achievement, I systematically worked my way to the main city in each of the nine holds and killed a guard to increase my bounty by 1000 gold. The achievement popped after killing the last guard.
- Now from reading various articles elsewhere it would suggest you need to have 1000 at the same time. The reason this seems correct is that the stats screen in Skyrim lists the current bounties and there value. However from what Eddie The Head is saying, I'm confused if the achievement is broken, or the description.
- To get this achievement, I systematically worked my way to the main city in each of the nine holds and killed a guard to increase my bounty by 1000 gold. The achievement popped after killing the last guard.

I still cannot get this Achievement! I have tried twice, travelling to the main city in each of the nine holds and killing sometimes two or three guards (oops!) then running away and moving to the next. On my stats I had over 1000 bounty on all holds and it didn't trigger the avchievement. I waited, slept, continued exploring, saved/loaded before going to a previous save and starting again with the same result (or lack of!) Any ideas? Thanks in advance. BUG?Edit
I have a Problem getting all Achievements listed and activated, although I have done everything I need to unlock it. For example the Master achievement. I'm level 53 and do not have the achievement. Or the "master a skill" achievement. I have six skills on level 100, but no achievement is listed.
I think it has something to do with steam, because my steam community wasn't activated at that time. Has anyone experienced anythimg similar?
Shall I remove it to the Bug section? — Unsigned comment by Sonofloki (talk • contribs) at 14:54 on 3 January 2012
- This isn't game specific from what you have described. What do you mean by "steam community wasn't activated"? Guitaristanime 17:54, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

- I did the same thing on the PC, disabled the In-game Steam Community, not realizing it would prevent achievements from updating (I just figured they would update during the game synch at shutdown). I completed Alduin's Wall before I realized what was going on and now cannot get the achievement. — Unsigned comment by 66.58.226.60 (talk) on 3 March 2012

AddAchievementIDsEdit
For your script hounds out there. I dug through the scripts, surprisingly (and somewhat unsurprisingly) they are in the in the same order as the ones on the page. These are for AddAchievement and ClearAchivement. AddAchivement does not work from the console.

Platinium trophy only for PS3?Edit
The wording is a bit vague, but am I right when I read "On the PS3, the Trophies are sorted into types: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Earning every trophy will unlock a Platinum trophy." as this trophy is exclusive to PS3? —MortenOSlash 10:50, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
Master Architect AchievementEdit
I don't know where the right place to really note it might be, but I think it might be helpful to note that by "Build three houses", it actually means build all three wings on all three houses. I was a little confused as to what I was missing until it occured to me that since the Architect achievement required all three wings, it might be reasonable to think Master Architect required all three wings, too. --Aviin (talk) 06:27, 20 October 2012 (GMT)
- I'll add a note to the Achievements section of the Construction page, since that's where the Master Architect link redirects. — ABCface◥ 06:35, 20 October 2012 (GMT)
(PC/Steam) Werewolf Mastered Not Awarded?Edit
For some reason I didn't receive Werewolf Mastered after unlocking all 11 werewolf perks. The only thing I can think of that would cause this not to work is that I gained lycanthropy through a mod, not through the Companions quest line. Does anyone know of a way to correct this, or of a work-around? --Wordwyrm (talk) 03:43, 23 December 2012 (GMT)
- Steam achievements sometimes just randomly get missed, regardless of which achievement it is. Try re-loading from just before you got the last perk and re-get the perk and achievement. That'll normally fix it. (With a mod, though, there's no guarantee...unloading the mod temporarily might help too.) – Robin Hood TALK 03:25, 24 December 2012 (GMT)
-
-
- If you haven't tried unloading it just for the last perk, that might be worth a shot, but it's entirely possible that something in the mod interferes with the achievement early on, and as you suggest, you may have to go back to before becoming a werewolf at all. – Robin Hood TALK 05:10, 24 December 2012 (GMT)

(Steam) Land Baron and Master ArchitectEdit
Just noticed that Land Baron and Master Architect are not listed on the Steam achievements page, but are included in the grand total of achievements. Having experienced a similar phenomenon with Deus Ex: Human Revolution, I felt safe in adding a note to the article explaining what I think is going on with those two, even though I haven't unlocked them yet. --Wordwyrm (talk) 04:01, 25 December 2012 (GMT).
- Add "Proud Parent" to that list as well. Until you actually adopt a kid, you won't see it in the locked achievements list. TheRealLurlock (talk) 04:51, 26 December 2012 (GMT)
-
- At least for me, all five of the Hearthfire achievements were hidden in Steam when I first got it. – Robin Hood TALK 06:37, 26 December 2012 (GMT)
Okay... but whats the point?Edit
What do these achievements do? Is it like in city of heroes, where if you get a bunch of the right ones you get some silly power? Or a title like in Warcraft?
I mean the page doesnt go into this at all... What do they actually do? An in-game trophy? The page said it was a reward for the player..does that mean like.. some kind of DLC? Or what? Im confused.
Granted I only even noticed them in my steam library today, but I havent been able to actually find out what they do. Its...confusing. 74.134.243.62 13:49, 15 February 2013 (GMT)
- They don't do anything, like most Steam achievements. They exist for bragging rights alone. TheRealLurlock (talk) 14:33, 15 February 2013 (GMT)
-
- They also help for those interested in game coverage. By seeking to achieve all of them, a player must complete many of the major plot lines and try many of the different skills. When a player notices that they have not gained a particular achievement, it may lead them to explore further, or play the game longer. Thus, even if only inadvertently, they will get more out of the game. — Unsigned comment by 85.210.103.211 (talk) at 08:42 on 8 August 2013 (GMT)
What are these???Edit
I played Skyrim for more than 5000 hours, explored every dungeon, cave, completed every possible quest just in one playthrough(and as far as i think, I have unlocked all the achievements) but I never knew about these achievements, they never popped up or informed me. IsPrerequisite columnEdit
since LE and SE track achievements independently, a lot of people now have the chance to choose which icon gets stuck permanently on the steam library screen for SE.
since it is not immediately obvious that some achievements are direct or indirect prerequisites of other achievements, this data would let players choose their final achievement icon early on
example1: Sideways cannot happen after Land Baron or Master Architect, because each plot of land requires 3 help-a-local sidequests (9 quests)
example2: Thu'um Master may or may not qualify as final icon candidate since some shouts are mandatory, for a quest to progress (Clear Skies) and other are physically avoidable word walls (all 3 Dragon Aspect)
example3: my final icon is Hidden Knowledge, which happened concurrent with Oblivion Walker, but of the two Hidden Knowledge triggered last.
ps: a human-friendly alternate to IsPrequisite seems like a good idea :P

- That seems far too specific a thing that would warrant the work to make it possible. Even expanding it to simply prerequisites would just be too cumbersome and utterly pointless information that it would not be desirable. Even as a PlayStation user I often try to pick a last trophy to unlock (to coincide with the Platinum) before playing a game, but I use basic knowledge, common sense, and a trophy guide to see if it possible. Basic knowledge tells me that Apprentice cannot be the last, common sense tells me that Take Up Arms cannot be the last, and a little bit of research tells me that Architect cannot be the last. This quirk should be left in the hands of who want it, it is hard enough documenting every NPC, every location, and every quest, without diverging into working out how many trophies can be obtained as the last of all of them.
- Sideways can happen after Land Baron, as only one of the required quests counts as a side quest. It is also only required if you do not seize Hjaalmarch for the Stormcloaks. Here we have an example of circumstantial prerequisites. Even by your example it still could as it requires 10 quests and you cite 9 completed, you are assuming a 10th done elsewhere.
- I count 10 mandatory shouts, one of which could be deliberately left (Call Valor after the main quest) to delay the trophy, the others all come in the middle of questlines. Even assuming I missed some, which I probably did I doubt I missed another 11 mandatory. Every wall can be left, they are not mandatory when dungeon crawling, though I included Dragon Aspect in my count.
- Your note that Hidden Knowledge and Oblivion Walker popped concurrently is impossible on an unmodified game, as the Black Books do not count for that trophy. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 17:34, 3 June 2017 (UTC)

- considering how long and interesting your reply was
- compared to the question (i had a lot of blank space)
- and since it takes research and mistakes are easily made (demonstrated)
- you make a strong argument that somebody somewhere should do this
- somebody who maintains... a reference site!
- for... people who love skyrim!

Creation Club and Verified Creations : disable achievements or notEdit
Currently (Dec. 12, 2023), this page reads both :
- Note that the use of mods (including Verified Creations) disables Special Edition achievement progress for both PC and console.
- The use of Creation Club Creations does not disable achievements as they are official content.
This seems paradoxal or confusing to me. Are both statements true, but an explaination is missing or is one false and should be removed?
Note the first line was edited by Legolas yesterday ([history link]).
--Baraz (talk) 16:40, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
- Both statements are true. Verified Creations are not the same thing as Creation Club Creations, as explained on the Verified Creations page linked in the paragraph you quoted. Creation Club Creations are official Bethesda content and as such do not disable achievements. Verified Creations are third-party mods sold through the in-game Creations menu; they are not official content and are treated the same as any other third-party mods, meaning the use thereof will disable achievements. Is the terminology confusing? Yes, but that's something you'll need to take up with Bethesda's marketing department. :P — Wolfborn(Howl) 19:53, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
