Detailed WalkthroughEdit

An anxious cook named Bea Lailonde stands on one of the higher floors of the Servants' Quarters in Goldstone castle. She has been sending weekly letters to a penpal named Cerdia Baraci for years, but it has been a considerable period since she last heard from Cerdia. Worried, Bea asks that you pay her a visit in her home in Archad. She'll give you 75 gold for your travel expenses and for any potions needed to allay any sickness that Cerdia may suffer. She'll also give you a Letter to Cerdia Baraci to pass on, with the contents of this letter revealing that it is the eighth that she has sent without receiving a response.

You can take a ship from Anvil to Archad, or else reach the village by following the north bank of the Strid River inland. Once there, you'll find Cerdia in her home. Talk to her about the Cerdia Baraci topic and say that Bea sent you. She isn't entirely surprised. It turns out that she's decided not to be Bea's pen pal any longer, having been overwhelmed by the letters, and with Bea having missed or ignored her attempts to be let down gently.

Return to Bea to break the news of Cerdia's wishes in unambiguous terms. Bea's very embarrassed to have it laid out by this, deciding that she will not be needing her writing materials and passing them to you by way of reward. She then understandably asks for some time alone.

100	Finishes quest	I spoke to Cerdia Baraci in Archad. She told me that she'd stopped corresponding with Bea Lailonde not because she was unable to, but because she found Bea needy and overbearing. She apologized for the trouble.
110	Finishes quest	I returned to Bea Lailonde and told her the truth about why Cerdia stopped responding to her. She decided she didn't need her writing supplies anymore and gave them to me.
120	Finishes quest	I informed Bea Lailonde that Cerdia Baraci was dead.
125	Finishes quest	Bea Lailonde is dead.
