Bounty?Edit

In my game, when I attacked Roxanne I did get a bounty- she has a higher responsibility than the other three, so saying you can murder them all without getting a bounty is wrong.--Willyhead 07:20, 5 September 2007 (EDT)

Then ou would have gotten a bounty for killing the others before Roxannw also

Either there's something strange in your game or someone spotted you killing her, I just killed them all without any problem since I shoot them from afar while sneaking 83.114.84.14 13:27, 19 May 2008 (EDT)

Skooma DeliveryEdit

If you manage to pickpocket everyone of the members skooma will then get more skooma later?

They never have in any of my games (although that doesn't stop the skooma-drinking animation playing when they talk to you) –RpehTCE 06:15, 10 February 2008 (EST)

Lies, All of it?Edit

I recently was able to cast the open hard locks spell and enter the Den for the first time, "Ok, I thought, i'll kill one and end up in the dark brotherhood", try I did, and the inhabitants all ran away and I got 2 guys fighting me and a visit from the Guard. I ended up with a huge fine and got in jail.Bug or am i doing it wrong? Hoborobo 06:22, 7 February 2009 (EST)

What almost certainly happened is that when you killed one of the inhabitants you either took more than one blow to finish him off or you were seen by the others when doing so. This resulted in you getting a bounty and the other inhabitants attacking you. For more information see here --SerCenKing 07:01, 7 February 2009 (EST)
In all fairness, I know, I have read the that page, but have you read the Skooma Den Page, it virtually says that you could just waltz in there and kill the ot of them without getting a bounty Hoborobo 07:45, 7 February 2009 (EST)

NotesEdit

I was just wondering if in notes it should say "S'Krivva is also a regular of the Skooma Den" as it's not really a Faction. — Unsigned comment by 75.153.94.195 (talk) on 26 February 2009

Ah but it is. She doesn't actually visit, but she's part of the faction. –RpehTCE 12:47, 26 February 2009 (EST)

For kicksEdit

The wooden chest that has the 3 skooma in it is abnormally small. just thought id say something, also anyone considered a page for abnormally sized items, such as the very large "a less rude song" in the leyawiin mages guild? SneakyPenguin77 (also my Gamertag) 21:05, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

I don't think a seperate page is warranted. Individual place pages usually mention it if an abnormally-sized (and interesting) object is present. --Timenn-<talk> 14:26, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
Also, you can make any item larger or smaller by scaling it in the TES Construction kit when making mods, for example. All the small chest and large "A less rude song" goes to show is that the developers of the game used similar software to scale the meshes, thus resulting in books and chests of many various sizes. Its not as rare as it may seem. — Unsigned comment by 24.162.224.136 (talk) at 19:02 on 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Is this abnormal?Edit

Okay, so I killed Roxanne in the Skooma Den to gain entry into the Dark Brotherhood, then pickpocket the Skooma off the other three inhabitants, giving them a disposition of 0 with me. They then proceed to leave the den and walk down to the Lucky Old Lady plaza, where they loiter around drinking skooma until bedtime. They then continue with this routine for the rest of the game. This has happened to me three times in a row, and I didn't see it listed on the NPC pages, so it must be a rare, if not unique bug. Has anybody else encountered this problem? I have included some of the details that I believe could have something with it. --Veckatimest 15:27, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

I just tested this and did exactly what you said. Much to my surprise, you are correct. While I don't know if killing Roxanne have anything to do with it, by following your technique, the Skooma Den residents will leave the Den and start to wander around town. I didn't get the Lucky Old Statue-schedule you did, but they all left. I'm going to check this a bit more as I can't figure out if this is a glitch or something that is supposed to happen. I tend to think it is not supposed to happen because my game became really slow when all three residents were outside. And went back to normal when they went to bed. To be continued. --Krusty 09:25, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
Corevette789 figured out the bulk of it on my talk page, but in addition to that, I suspect the heart of the behaviour change lies in the fact that you've unlocked the door for them. I'm noticing that the while the occupants have the appropriate ownership on the door, so they can unlock it from that perspective, they're not flagged to actually lock or unlock doors, so they may simply not be able to get out. Check and see if they leave even if you don't kill anybody, but just unlock the door. Robin Hoodtalk 16:34, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I have done quite a bit of testing (with Corevette789 and RH70 as backups on the IRC) and here are the strange facts:
  • It is NOT related to whether the door is unlocked or not, nor is it related to Disposition or murder. If you remove the Skooma from any of the residents, they will leave the Den between 8am and 8pm, no matter what.
  • According to Corevette’s CS-investigation, they will wander around Bravil in search of Skooma with a radius of 5000 centered on the statue. I can't get them to the statue, though (not that it is important), because: they tend to stay near the Den door, probably because there is no Skooma to be found in town. Oddly, they will never loot the chest inside the Den, probably because of the Find package that sends them outside.
  • Here comes the strangest observation; IF they find any Skooma (which, of course, will never happen in Bravil), it will trigger an Eating package and make them start searching for food - but only if they are outside and have Skooma in their inventory. All of them will behave a bit like City-Swimmer and will steal food from the other residents and will end up being killed by the guards.
My final question is; can we be specific about the eating times when outside (with Skooma in their inventory)? Is it 12pm-2pm, 6pm-8pm as usual? Or will the eating package kick in at all times?
--Krusty 18:44, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
I can check this in the next couple of days.--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 15:55, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
Sounds good! The whole trick is: steal all bottles of Skooma from each member (probably easiest to follow them one at a time) and follow them outside. Drop a single bottle on the ground and make sure they pick it up. Check out when/if they start to search for food - and write down the times. Roxanne however, seems a bit tricky. She carries what appears to be a respawning piece of food, so better steal that as well. Good luck and thanks! --Krusty 17:53, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
You're welcome! If I leave food next to the Skooma it should mean that they don't get killed correct?--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 18:15, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
I think so. The funny thing is, the eating package will not kick in until they have Skooma in their inventory. But your technique sounds good - and will probably help you with the times. If my suggestions above are just a little bit correct, then they will not pick up the food until the eating package starts, hopefully at noon and 6pm. --Krusty 18:55, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the help!--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 19:21, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
Well, I've run into a slight snag: Roxanne keeps killing Reistrer when he picks up the skooma and food. Preliminary testing of Roxanne shows that the eat package probably kicks in any time since she picked up the food at 11:14 AM though.--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 17:41, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, that sounds odd, mostly because Roxanne is the only one with a bit of Responsibility - and it might be worthy of a bug-note. I'll do some testing on this rare phenomenon when I can find the time. In the meantime, we might as well start out by writing the "exception" to the schedules (assuming they are correct) and add it to all four residents. Since all four schedules seems identical, it shouldn't take long for a CS wizard to check the written schedules - and then we can add the exception. --Krusty 20:36, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Quite intresting, I must admit. Do they ever *use* any of the Skooma they carry, though? — Unsigned comment by 184.77.194.254 (talk) at 06:27 on 2 July 2010

I don't think so, and that is probably why this weird behavior haven't been observed before. Apparently (and that is my guess), they were meant for something "bigger" than just being locked away inside the Den. Maybe even an unfinished quest or something - I mean, think of all the circumstances:
  • You'll have to unlock the Den door yourself
  • You'll have to steal the Skooma they're carrying, which will trigger a whole new package.
  • You'll have to drop some Skooma outside for them to pick up, which will trigger the eating package.
That is quite a few steps before the true nature of the Skooma addicts shows. Quite fascinating, actually! --Krusty 07:01, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
OK, I tried this, but for some reason the skooma stays in their inventories? Why is this? 72.160.133.24 00:16, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Try stealing 5 bottles at a time instead of the whole lot. Just keep trying and eventually you should be able to steal all the bottles. --Krusty 06:57, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Whoah, I totally forgot all about this weird behavior of the Skooma Den residents. Time to get back to work on this. Anybody tested anything on matter since august? --Krusty 23:09, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
I'll give it a shot.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 02:14, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

Can't pick pocket?! (Is this abnormal?)Edit

As a member of the Thieves Guild, I heard it was easy to pickpocket Smookma from the residents of the Skooma Den. But when I tried to steal from them, I select the number of skooma I want to steal from them & then I get an audio clip of them saying- "Take it, it's useless to me" When I check my inventory I have no Skooma & when I re-pickpocket them they still have the Skooma I supposedly stole. Also, I do this while they are sleeping, am I supposed to do it while they're awake? — Unsigned comment by 75.14.11.53 (talk) at 15:43 on April 21, 2011

When you get caught picking pockets, people tend to take their stuff back... The reply is simply a randomly generated line for when they won't report it. You need to be sneakier. --DKong27 Talk Cont 21:08, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

Free StorageEdit

Just wanted to point out that on the other roof top across from the door of the skooma den there's a non respawning chest that you could use for storage. — Unsigned comment by 71.2.72.232 (talk) at 02:12 on 27 April 2011 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure this topic has been discussed before, either on a page regarding Warlock's Luck, or Bravil in general. I suppose it might be good to note, but this page is for the skooma den specifically. - Neural Tempest 02:12, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Skooma addicts and poisonEdit

Skooma addicts are immune to poisonous apples — Unsigned comment by 24.224.16.159 (talk) at 00:36 on July 2, 2011

What do you mean? If one of them ate a Poison Apple, they would die, regardless of circumstances. Do you mean that they will never eat one? If so, it is most likely due to the fact they would rather drink Skooma instead. --DKong27 Tk Ctr Em 05:40, 2 July 2011 (UT
Sorry I was wrong I finally got one to eat one and he died. After I pickpocketed the addicts and they left the den with a poisonous apple in inventory. I dropped one skooma and there was a fight over it. Finally the addict who picked up the skooma walked to the lonely suitor sat outside ate the apple then promptly died — Unsigned comment by 24.224.16.159 (talk) at 00:57 on July 2, 2011

Drink and TALK?!?!Edit

I talked to someone in the skooma den and they talk in a rather strange way. They drink and talk. And when that wood elf is outside I heard a lockpick sound.Iancee (talk) 21:43, 19 May 2013 (GMT)
