Detailed WalkthroughEdit
When you first arrive in the cave, you will see Gabrielle standing to your left, go over and talk to her and she will tell you that Sabina has run on ahead to try and impress her and that you need to go and find her. As you walk into the first major room in the cave, you will encounter two cave bears, after dispatching of them continue onwards and eventually, you will enter an Ayleid ruin. In the first main room of the ruin, you will have to fight against two wight lords, with there being a couple of breakables in the room as well.
In the next room, you will have to fight a single necromancer who carries a key to the door to your right in the same room. Once you unlock the door, Sabina will thank you for rescuing her before running off to safety. You will then need to look for the Dwemer construct rod that Gabrielle is looking for, to first start this, you need to activate the lever in the same room that you just saved Sabina from and then turn around to go back into the previous room where a door on the right will have then opened up.
This hidden door will take you to a cave system that contains three cave spiders and two giant cave spiders. After the room with the spiders, the next room contains an ancient troll. After a bit, you will reenter the Ayleid ruins where you will be attacked by two wight lords. This first room in the Ayleid ruins contains the secret area with the lever being to the right of the door you came in through. Once pulled it will open a secret door on the right wall where a silver chest will await you alongside some breakables.
After you are done with the secret area, continue onwards and you will enter a large room where a potent frost atronach will teleport in and run towards you. This enemy is quite tough but is weak against fire damage. Once you have finished with it, walk towards the sarcophagus in the middle of the room and pull the welkynd stone to unlock the gate to the right of you. In the final room, you will bump into M'jaddah who will tell you that he had a feeling you would be here.
M'jaddah tells you that he has done some digging around and has found out that the River Snake is about to bring in a boatful of contraband to a nearby village and that he will continue to search for more information on which village this is. He will also tell you that it makes no sense to look for a Dwemer artifact in an Ayleid ruin.
Once you return to town Gabrielle will apologize and say that she will keep searching for new information.
