User talk:Sniffles

I restarted playing Oblivion as a way to pass time between bouts of work. I had played it through, doing every quest, on three previous occasions. This time I chose to be different. Hammering through the quests to me is power gaming. For that matter, pursuing finding the quests is as well. Wham bang done and what game shall I play next. Well, Ob offers a lot more, but it takes a different mindset.

First and foremost, fast travel is power gaming. I have scenery. Why not enjoy it. I resolved I would not use any game play system that was not organic. Natural to the Oblivion world. Aesthetics and survival were paramount, and acting naturally.

The acting naturally meant severe limitations as far as the map is concerned. Since GPS doesn't exist, having one's place always marked on the map is really chicken poop.

So my two rules I followed were no 'teleporting' and only looking at the map when I am at a known location I can identify by road signs or landscape features. That meant getting lost a lot. To this I added no training. While training makes sense, the time involved is pure power gaming.

Enough of the baloney. I work for the most idiotic business in the world. It requires me to pound away feverishly at an impossible pace then suddenly sit idle, sometimes for days at a time, constantly monitoring my emails. During those idle hours I plugged into Oblivion.

  • Onwards!

Baby. Sometimes called Babe. Most times called airhead. In her own words. "So I'm sitting there in a cell without a clue as to how I got there. That would be my character note. Bubbles for brains. I'm minding my own business, as if you can do anything else ina cell, when a REALLY SERIOUSLY WILD EYED MANIAC comes barging in and asks what I am doing there. The guy looks insane. He looks and talks like he has been into the nose candy for WAY too long. Well, him and some heaily armed thugs do a secret wall thing, along with mentioning I would be better off dead. Following them (airhead, right?) some get themselves killed including the guy who claimed to be Emperor. Before he gets croaked he gives me solid proof he's been getting his nightmares through a straw, along with a very fancy bauble I can't wear. So he gets dead and his last request is I go turn myself in to some wacko who is head of the order of wackos that were supposed to protect the snow man. Seek out Jauffre. Right. Sure. In your dreams. I escape, the sole witness to the dudes demise, scamper with his big jewel, and go play dumb. Not going to happen. Not any time soon anyway."

Please be Careful...Edit

You're on the brink of edit warring on the Shivering:Cylarne page. Although you may have strong opinions about what should and should not be on the page, several other editors obviously disagree with you. The problem can be discussed civilly on the article's talk page. Remember to stay calm and level headed, and always be polite to other editors. This is perfectly simple; instead of you getting angry and reverting over and over, please participate in the very discussion you started on the subject. I made your redundant edit into a useful note, so I can’t even see the point in your revert – please explain on said talk page. --Krusty 08:56, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
"What we have here is failure to 'municate'." (Where is that quote from?) SerCenKing very neatly and capably explained and fixed everything with his comment "The lead section for place pages is essentially made up of two parts. In 90% of pages (basically anything outside the SI namespace) you will get info that was previously in the /description pages. That is: where the place is, who inhabits it, whether it is quest-related and its various zones. That is enough for pages that do not have any significant lore to them."
If I had encountered that somewhere in the Ob. wiki editing instructions none of my goofs would have happened. Be that as it may, my apologies to all. (and I forgot to sign my comment again). PS Wiki editing does NOT coincide well with multitasking. Sniffles 04:09, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
I'm sorry if I came across as sounding harsh there. It wasn't my intention. Multitasking makes me stressed -.- --Kitkat xxx TalkContribE-mail 07:44, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
Not harsh at all. I quite understand your and Krusty's warnings. There are zillions of people out there looking to trash web pages. It could be all but impossible to differentiate between them and me when I'm not paying attention and in speed reading mode. Right now I have resolved to only put my ideas into discussion pages. To me this is actually a little silly. I do some edit on the fly and move on. Maybe 10 or 20 projects and jobs later (or sometimes over 100) a big fuss is raised and I have to dial my brain down and study, what the fuss is and what the heck I did. It is really nice when someone comes along like SerCenKing and takes the time to spell out the situation clearly and lucidly. OH! That's what all the foof is about! I get it! Image RequestEdit

I saw your post on Krusty's page and I was wondering if I could trouble you for an image of a vampire burning and smoking in sunlight. The problem is that wisps of smoke only come off of the player character. If you could get a screenshot it would be awesome, if not npz. Also, what's with the random "A" floating on your page? :P Kitkat xxx TalkContribE-mail 15:25, 26 September 2011 (UTC)I'll certainly give it a try. I need to research them a little as to how to get one out in daylight. Sniffles 20:55, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

Do you have any preference as to what race the vampire is? Will my weird character, a mod thing with green hair do? Sniffles 21:26, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
Got the shots. Lets me know? Sniffles 04:56, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
Kwl, can I see? ;D Kitkat xxx TalkContribE-mail 05:15, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
Sure. How do I do this? Email? I also have some questions. Can we chat somehow? Sniffles 05:38, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
How about irc? Kitkat xxx TalkContribE-mail 07:13, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
