Welcome Back!Edit
Hey S'drassa, it's been a while, but it's always nice to see a patroller return to the site! Hope you stick around! --AKB Talk Cont Mail 03:17, 25 November 2013 (GMT)
Personal requestEdit
Hey S'drassa! Good to see you again - and thanks for the images! I have a minor plea: can you take an alternative shot of this image? Iy seriously lacks some kind of light Sorine, and it would be great to see Gunmar's face instead of his... well, you know what I mean. Oh, and I took the liberty and recreated your "Husky-in-your-face"-image, as I found it quite funny - along with some lighting tweaks on a few other images. Remember you can see the entire article here. Thanks in advance! --Krusty (talk) 23:14, 27 November 2013 (GMT)
- Done! Lemme know if it still needs improvement and I'll get it done as quickly as possible. And thanks for brightening the images, I'm still afraid that if I add too much brightness the image will look washed out. In my defense though that place has horrible lightning :P Oh and if you'd like I could upload a better version of the husky pic, the one I uploaded first got horribly stretched out. --S'drassaYes? 04:49, 28 November 2013 (GMT)
-
- Ah thanks, that new image of Sorine looks much better. ☺ As for the husky, I only now realize that it is stretched (looking at the old version in 16:9), so a new one is probably for the best. Oh, and for the lighting inside Ruunvald, you’re right. I’ve noticed it being unusually dim (especially in the final chamber), so I just gave the images a bit of spotlight for better thumbnails. Florentius just had to be boosted, then he turned out okay (I was actually surprised by the amount of detail hidden in the dark). Again, thanks for the images! --Krusty (talk) 05:37, 28 November 2013 (GMT)
Hag's EndEdit
Hiya S'drassa, just wanted to say thanks for the superb images for Hag's End place page! I've left the last one out, the predator's boots, not because I didn't like it, I just couldn't get them all to fit properly if I included it and the one of the ice wraith's on the balcony is soooo sweet! I didn't want to mess the page up. Awesome job thank you!!!! Biffa (talk) 13:13, 29 November 2013 (GMT)
Edit
Hi S'drassa,
Again thanks for all the fantastic images, one quick question though. I've no problem with you changing caption words from lower to uppercase or vice versa, but what was wrong with captions I'd put? they weren't rude, and I can't see how any of them would offend, so I'm struggling to understand why you felt the need to change them. If I'm doing something wrong please direct me to what it is and where the guidelines are to avoid me repeating my mistakes. If not I'd prefer keeping the captions I've put effort into coming up with. Cheers Biffa (talk) 12:30, 5 December 2013 (GMT)
- There was nothing wrong with them, so please don't feel like you're doing something wrong. The changes I've done to some of them mainly consist of:
-
- Decapitilazing them. This is more of an aesthetic change than anything else that I've been doing because, similar to putting the same link several time throughout the same page (which sometimes tends to turn the page text almost all blue), having every new word start with a capital letter can sometimes look wrong (personally though I've no problems with it :P).
- Changed the caption to something else entirely. This one I mostly did only when I felt the caption was too vague or too "out of place" to describe what the image content was. Kinda like saying that a duck is a bird to a person that's never seen one: too vague to help the person understand what a duck is.
-
- But again there was nothing wrong with them. I'm sorry if I made you feel bad about it, it was certainly not my intention. And I really appreciate the major effort that you've been doing to fill the empty articles. Great work! :D --S'drassaYes? 13:49, 5 December 2013 (GMT)
- Is it really the job of the caption to describe the image? That's not generally true of most of the captions I've seen throughout the wiki I thought a bit of "word fun" was in keeping with the spirit of the captions i.e. where I put Hard Rock instead of Stalheim deposit. The images/captions aren't there to describe, that's the job of the walkthrough surely? It takes a lot of the fun out of inserting the images if all I'm able to do is say door to blah blah, or bedroom or whatever. What about Typical marriage, that doesn't describe. How is that any different to Hard Rock. As I said the changes of case, fair enough, I disagree as I felt that captions are more like titles and as such felt capitalizing all words except the little ones "of" "and" "the"-(sometimes), etc. But the other changes I would like to revert them. Is there any real difference between In the Hole and Into the hole? except In the Hole is a saying in common usage-in golf, meaning in trouble, in isolation, etc. As I said word fun. Please let's keep the fun in captions Biffa (talk) 15:43, 5 December 2013 (GMT)
- In the case of place images? I'd say yes, the caption needs to help with the description. Mostly because sometimes the walkthroughs tend to get a bit too lenghty and people don't feel like reading the whole thing to find what they're specifically looking for. And I'd be lying to you if I said I didn't consider changing all the captions to a more neutral state. I left most of them as it is as I felt it would be too extreme to change everything. Making a fun description it's fine, but that is more appropriate in a quest walkthrough or NPC image, where the article instead uses images to give it more life. Like for example, the "Typical Marriage" one: I left it like that because it is more oriented towards an NPC (or NPCs) rather than something related to the ambience of the place. ---S'drassaYes? 16:15, 5 December 2013 (GMT)
- (edit conflict) Hello again, Biffa. Just a little advice for you. Can you please change the way you do your captions? Please try not to use captions that sound fun or colloquial, like what you did here, here, and here. Wikis are supposed to be more formal, and all the information are to be documented in an encyclopaedic manner. This extends to images and captions as well. Captions are to be descriptive of the image; for this wiki, the caption usually describes a particular area of a place (e.g. "A reaver campsite" instead of your caption, "So you call this home?"), or NPCs (e.g. "The pirates attacking" instead of "There be pirates!"), or NPCs doing something (e.g. "A bandit mining an ore vein" instead of "We dig, dig, dig the whole day"). A caption should identify the subject of the image, provide context for the image, and is succinct; the details are found at Wikipedia's Manual of Style here and here.
- Secondly—as S'drassa has already mentioned—is the capitalisation issue. Capitalisation and punctuation rules of the English language extend to captions as well. Only the first word and proper nouns are capitalised, with all other words decapitalised, and captions which are not complete sentences do not require a full stop. ~ Psylocke 16:17, 5 December 2013 (GMT)

- Thanks for the links showing caption guidelines, that was the main part of my original request. I will follow these in future. I wasn't trying to argue, I'm trying to learn and understand how things need to be done to avoid others having to come along correcting me all the time and me creating unnecessary work for anyone. Thanks again to you both. Biffa (talk) 17:23, 5 December 2013 (GMT)
Potema's catacombsEdit
Hi S'drassa,
You've amended a sword to leveled when it isn't and removed mention of an ancient nord helmet completely. I've done this quest at various levels including lvl60+ and received an iron sword and helmet every time. Now that could have been luck, in which case it should be shown as random. Also not sure why you deleted the preparation and note parts as they were put in 2011, obviously not by me. Not trying argue, trying to understand for the future only. Don't think I'm being a pain. Biffa (talk) 01:06, 8 December 2013 (GMT)
- Hmm, I'll need to check the CK better but as far as I can tell the sword is classified as a "Dummy" which means that, afaik, it will acquire its appearance once the cell loads. Speaking from experience, I got a glass sword (the one in the screenie) and a modded one the two times I reloaded the entire cell (I was lvl 56, btw). The helmet, tough, I'm 100% sure it's always an Ancient Nord Helmet (it's specified as such in the CK).
- As for the notes, it is sort of an unspecified rule that we should avoid writing tactics or walkthroughs to get through a quest or something, simply because there are a lot advantages and disadvantages that each player can have. For a better example on how this can get out of hand you can check this and older. And I don't think you are a pain, I like your work :D --S'drassaYes? 01:20, 8 December 2013 (GMT)
- I'm in full agreement regarding the ancient Nord helmet, I was asking why you'd removed all mention of it, but looking again, I must have been going blind when I looked previously as thought all mention of it had gone-my bad on that one! Regarding the sword, it would still be better described as RANDOM and not LEVELED otherwise I wouldn't have received an iron sword at lvl 60+. Regarding the prep and notes parts, I was just wondering why you deleted them when they have been part of the page for so long. Whenever I update a page I try and work with whats already there rather then start from scratch, only left them in because they had been there so long. Biffa (talk) 01:29, 10 December 2013 (GMT)
- You are absolutely correct. I've gone ahead and changed it. By the way, don't be afraid of removing old content. Skyrim pages in particular can often be littered with outdated/redundant/useless info, mostly because the game is still relatively new and many of them have been left unattended, like in this case. --S'drassaYes? 01:56, 10 December 2013 (GMT)

Black BooksEdit
Hey S'drassa, I noticed you've been uploading images of Black Books. We already have images of them all (e.g. here), so in the future maybe replace or use them so we don't have redundant images. Nice work on all the uploads though! Really like this one. —Legoless (talk) 17:11, 8 December 2013 (GMT)
Image Request (Nightingale Bow)Edit
Hello S'drassa, would you mind taking a different version of File:SR-item-Nightingale Bow.jpg to match File:SR-item-Nightingale Blade.jpg. The Nightingale Bow is just about the largest item in the inventory I can think of, and I found it impossible to get it all in the frame. As you have a higher resolution, you might be able to, however. No worries if you can't. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 20:49, 12 December 2013 (GMT)
Well, I tried my best. As you can see the upper left corner is still missing a tiny piece but if I tilted it more I couldn't get the correct aspect ratio when editing the image. I can try to get something better, if you'd like :D --S'drassaYes? 21:53, 12 December 2013 (GMT)

- That's great, thanks! I hate to be a bother, but would you mind taking another image of this bow? Specifically, of Karliah's Bow? I threw up the Nightingale Bow image on that page, but it has an enchantment aura, while that version of the bow shouldn't. If you get a chance to do this, please just edit the page and replace the current image. Thanks in advance! --AKB Talk Cont Mail 23:03, 13 December 2013 (GMT)

(←) Done :D ! I had to invoke mah haxxor powers because apparently the devs didn't want you to play with that bow --S'drassaYes? 05:00, 14 December 2013 (GMT)
