Hello!Edit
Hello KizC! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:
- Policies and Guidelines: UESPWiki standards and expectations
- Quick Editing Guide: a quick guide to wiki markup
- Getting Started: how you can help
If you, on the other hand, would like to spice up your userpage, take a look at this link:
- Userboxes: near complete list of userboxes, including a guide to make your own
When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).
Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! --AKB Talk Cont Mail 17:44, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

- Since you asked in IRC, but had to go, here's the link from Getting Started you were looking for: Task List. These aren't necessarily the only tasks, but they will probably be the easiest to get done, since there is established criteria on how to accomplish them. Good luck! Enjoy the wiki. - Hey KizC! Just noticed your question on IRC (sorry, I was looking elsewhere), but if you need something to do never hesitate to ask. I'll more or less repeat what Lukish just said, with a few additions: You can take a look at the OB NPC Redesign page, or a look at the OPRP project. These are the biggest Oblivion-related projects at the moment. Also, our task list, although s bit outdated in some cases, could be helpful as well. If you choose something from the task list, it’s probably safest to consult a patroller or administrator for advice. Like I said, it not the most updated page on the Wiki. Good luck. --Krusty 23:43, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

SignatureEdit
Sorry - your email went into my spam folder so I only just noticed it. What exactly do you want to do with your signature? As a general tip, the most important thing is to check the "raw signatures" option. That makes the software treat your sig as wiki markup instead of... something else. You can see my signature here if you need a bit of guidance. rpeh •T•C•E• 00:43, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- So, do you have to link to a page such as that? Or create a signature in wiki markup like I can see (in your signature) whilst editing this page? Thanks --KizC 16:54, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- You can do either. I use a separate page and my signature in the Preferences is

. The other way would be to copy and paste the whole page (minus categories etc) into the signature space. I want to use a separate page so I have a history of my signature, should I ever need it for some reason. rpeh •T•C•E• 17:13, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

- Thats an IP user. No below that there should be two attempts at replying by me and then a edit saying - Patroller please check, can you see this? I can't. If you can't I seem to be unable to edit this article. Please reply on my talk page. I then put this in the edit summary to see if you could see it.

It appears you nailed that template! Thank you. It didn't help that I accidently created a wrong archive. Thanks again. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 20:59, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
- S'alright. I had to look at an example to spot what was wrong. I've never archived anything, ever :D I find looking at an example helps ;) and we all create wrong names. I normally do image names incorrectly, they take the filename from my computer rather than the one i give them for some reason D: --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 21:02, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, it appears the archive template worked as soon as I renamed the faulty page. I removed your classification of the table, and it still links. I definitely appreciated your input, however! Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 21:23, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
Daggerfall ImageEdit
I've reverted to the original version of COVEN.GIF. The image is archived from the old FAQ, and isn't user-generated nor intended for article illustration. As the 'Screenshots and Previews' page says, it "is an archive of a historical document and should not be edited other than formatting, links, or minor typos". Sorry. :/ --Legoless 17:39, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
- Ahhh, sorry. I wans't going by a page. I was going by the categories, all i could see was the image and file name. Are there many more like that? --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 17:41, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
-
- There are actually quite a few, although most were never brought over to the wiki by the looks of it. Still, if you look out for that page in the "file links" section then you shouldn't have too much of a problem with them. --Legoless 17:50, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
CategoriesEdit
When you add a cat like you've been doing () you're giving it a sort key of "Daggerfall-Place Images" - that's the bit after the pipe. If you look at the cat at the moment, the images are sorted all over the place because they all have the same key. If you use the place name as the sort key, things work better. For instance, . rpeh •T•C•E• 19:38, 19 October 2011 (UTC) Damn it, so i've gotta go redo them all :( I wasn't doing bad either :D --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 19:39, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
Vilena Donton tableEdit
First OffenceEdit
You would steal from your brothers? If you had a need for something, why would you not just ask? I will give you a chance, though. As it is only your first offense, do not return until you have collected 20 bear pelts. Use this time to reflect on your actions.
You've murdered one of your brothers. While we may die in battle, we do not expect to die at the hands of our friends. I offer you a chance for redemption. Do not return until you have 20 bear pelts. Take this time to come to terms with what you've done.
You've been told what you must do in order to regain your standing, and you've not yet done it. Don't return until you have twenty bear pelts. I offer you a chance for redemption. Do not return until you have 20 bear pelts. Take this time to come to terms with what you've done.
So, you've collected the pelts. I trust you've learned a lesson. Your rank is restored, along with all rights and responsibilities.
Second OffenceEdit
You've killed another of your brothers! During other times, I'd have you killed for this. One chance. Bring me twenty minotaur horns. Perhaps this exercise will help you build character, or vent your murderous rage elsewhere. Or, you'll die, and you won't be our problem. Now, go.
First a theft, and now a murder. Your crimes are escalating. You have one final chance. Go out and collect the horns of twenty minotaurs. If you succeed, perhaps you'll have learned something in that time. If you fail, perhaps you'll be dead, and no longer our problem. Now, go.
Another theft! This is your final chance. Go back into the field, and return to me with the horns of twenty minotaurs. If you return, perhaps you'll have gained some measure of character. Perhaps, though, you'll die. Then you're no longer the guild's problem.
First you murder, now you steal? Have you gone mad? You're a disgrace. I will offer you one final chance. Return with 20 minotaur horns if you wish to rejoin the Fighters Guild. Perhaps you'll find redemption; perhaps you'll die trying. Go now.
Don't speak to me again, unless you've gotten twenty minotaur horns. Then, perhaps we'll have something to discuss.
You've brought back the horns. Your rank and responsibilities are restored. There will be no further chances given you.

Darkbrotherhood QuestsEdit
Please stop trolling the Dark Brotherhood pages. Destroy the Dark Brotherhood! clearly exists, and reverting my edits by saying it doesn't is very borderline trolling at this point. There is no reason to not have mention of this alternate character path on the page - it makes a large difference with in game lore and has it's own rewards. Baron 22:51, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
- I would of posted this last night, but both my phone and the site were playing up so i decided a much better use of my time was to go to sleep. So here we go -
- This post is split into 2 main points, detailed below -
- Point Number 1: Please do not call me a troll, or anyone else on this site. As a rule branding someone a troll, or a vandal, is not going to help the site (or you) progress anywhere. Please remember to assume good faith at all times, this means that unless a number of people are sure that editor is troll/vandal you shouldn't generally call the editor as such. Generally a polite, descriptive but to the point post on the Users Talk page is enough to get your point across. Edit summaries like the ones you provided were not generally helpful to me.
- Point Number 2: I am, going to very shortly, cut down the Joining section. All that is needed in that section is how to find the first DB quest, nothing more. The same goes for your leaving quest, all is need is how to start the quest, on both the Dark Brotherhood page and the With Friends Like These... page. I am not trying to remove your edits, but as the text underneath every edit summary says If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly, then don't submit it here.
- I think that about sums it up nicely, any points you would like me to explain in more detail? --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 09:50, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
-
- I assumed good faith until you tried to say that the quest **didn't exist** which is **very** clearly a blatant lie. You can call that whatever you want - I call it trolling.
-
- Secondly, you are insane if you don't think that there should be a section on the destroying the quest. It has everything to do with the Dark Brotherhood, and needs to be on the page. Delete it if you wish, but as you said, If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly, then don't submit it here. I'll add it back. Baron 20:22, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
-
-
- No, you won’t. That’s edit warring, and will be stopped immediately, without further notice. I suggest that the two of you find separate paths from now on. Kiz, Baron is correct so please leave this alone – Baron, please refer from calling anyone a troll from this point forward. --Krusty 20:31, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
-
-
-
-
- If you would of asked for further explanation rather than a re-statement I would of obliged - I will apologize for the 'blatant lie' that I told by seeing a red link on a automatically cached version of the page which I was viewing and therefore presuming there wasn't a quest. I was, trying, to cut down the explanations and would still like to do so to both the Joining and Leaving sections, if Krusty thinks that that would look better? And on a side note on the same subject, has a note been added to Astrid's page about this change in her essential status? --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 20:36, 13 November 2011 (UTC)

Criteria for stub statusEdit
May I ask why you re-added the stub template to that page? That article is a complete description of the quest from beginning to end, has an image, etc. Seems complete enough. This is the definition of a stub according to this wiki:
- Stubs are articles which have not yet received substantial attention from authors. They have been created, but are incomplete and do not yet contain all of the information relevant to that topic.
Some clarification would be appreciated. --Gage 23:09, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
- Yep, I can clarify. First off, i'd like to thank you for asking me (this is much appreciated) And secondly, reasoning - I'd think that the stub template should be on a page providing the following conditions, there is no image, there are no section headers in the detailed walkthrough, the quick walkthrough should contain enough points to follow (but not too many, and no spoilers) and the article should be of a reasonable length. That's what I use before removing it, that might just be me though. And, if in doubt, look back to OB and compare the articles. --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 20:57, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply. Do you think Skyrim:Breaching Security is still a stub or could I remove the stub template there?--Gage 07:13, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
Arniel's Endeavor (C)Edit
As per Assume Good Faith, you could have just removed the link or reworded instead of plain reverting in Arniel's Endavor (C). It seems like I really uncovered a bug that other readers would want to know about. Tageborg 23:50, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
- The point was that you should probably confirm the bug on the talk page before you put the bug on the actual page, instead of writing "somebody please confirm" on the article. Kitkat •Talk•Contrib•E-mail 12:45, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

- Ok, with that information I can update. Tageborg 13:09, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

Reverted from "Locations" section in charred skeever hide?Edit
I am just trying to understand the logic here. Why was that removed? "Unremarkable ingredient" seems to go for most (even nirnroot is respawning) and "an ingredient map will be added at a later date" while true, doesn't help anyone now. In addition, it will need to draw from information, which I was helping to provide. Also, per the average oblivion ingredient page, there is a fixed ingredients section and a harvesting points section in addition to the map. This was the set up I was trying to emulate. Granted the locations I am providing are more specific than an oblivion ingredient page but that would be remedied in time as each cell was explored more thoroughly and the more specific nature of the information makes it easier for others to double check/add to it. In any case, the ingredients should be consistent and many of pages have similar sections now (and while I added the headers to most, the lists were often started by others). Thank you for listening. Coronus 03:56, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
NotesEdit
I was in the process to give all the notes a separate page, since they are only a handful. I know it was done differently in Oblivion, but we now even have a separate page for each Atronach Recipe [1] [2]. The dump on the disambig page was really only a way to organize things (but I can use the page history as easily). Any objections to continue with my plan and removing the notes slowly from Skyrim:Notes ? --Alfwyn 22:50, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
