This template should be used to indicate when a user believes a single article should be split into multiple articles. It will add tagged articles to Category:To Be Split.

| nocat | optional | Specifying any value for this parameter will cause the article not to be added to Category:To Be Split; normally used only for documentation. |
| section | optional | Section name of the discussion. (Defaults to "Split".) |
