Detailed WalkthroughEdit

Counting The PeopleEdit

Nevrile Omayn, the mouth of Master Mithras, has a problem. She has ordered a retainer to carry out a census in Ranyon-ruhn but things have fallen behind schedule. She wants you to head to the town and hurry the census along. The easiest way to get there is to take a boat to Tel Ouada then a silt strider to Ranyon-ruhn, or you could alternatively cast Almsivi Intervention.

Ask around, and somebody will tell you that Cartil Florius is the man you're looking for, and that he has been hanging around outside Brelar Gildaren's house for the past few days.

The ProblemEdit

It seems he has hit a problem getting the last bit of data: Brelar Gildaren has refused to divulge what he does or how much he earns. If you are a Dark Elf, High Elf, or Wood Elf and Gildaren's disposition towards you is 60 or higher, you can try talk to him yourself to get the information. If you are any other race, the bigoted Dark Elf won't say a word and you will need to talk to his neighbors instead. However you do it, you will eventually discover that Gildaren is a miner and earns about 20 drakes per day.

Job DoneEdit

Return to Florius with the information. He asks you to take the completed census back to Port Telvannis, as he fears he will be punished for his time-wasting. If you agree, his disposition towards you jumps by ten; if not, it drops by ten. Whether or not you are delivering the census, return to the Telvanni Council House and talk again to Nevrile Omayn. You can either tell her the real reason for the delay, or lie and tell her you had to rescue Florius from some bandits. If you choose the former, Florius is expelled from House Telvanni, but there is no effect on your reward: 50 gold and three points of Telvanni faction reputation.

NotesEdit

  • If you make Florius take the census back to Omayn himself, or if you tell the truth about the delay, Florius is expelled from House Telvanni. He is then moved to The Black Ogre Tavern in Nivalis.

Census in Ranyon-ruhn (TR_m1_HT_Mi1)
Index Finishes Quest Journal Entry
10 Nevrile Omayn asked me to check up on the Telvanni Retainer she had ordered to conduct a census of Master Mithras's holdings in Ranyon-ruhn. The retainer had fallen behind schedule, and Nevrile does not appreciate slackness.
20 A citizen of Ranyon-ruhn informed me that a census was indeed being taken and that Cartil Florius, the retainer, had been seen dithering around outside Brelar Gildaren's house for the past few days.
30 I found the retainer, Cartil Florius, who informed me that he had been having trouble acquiring information necessary for the census from the Dunmer, Brelar Gildaren. Apparently, Gildaren had objected to being asked questions by "an Imperial n'wah", and refused to speak with Cartil.
35 Brelar Gildaren refused to answer my questions, and demanded that I leave his house. I'll have to get the information from some other source. Perhaps his neighbors?
40 Upon questioning him, Brelar Gildaren told me that he was a worker at the mine, and earned roughly 20 drakes a day.
41 Upon questioning his neighbors, I found out that Brelar Gildaren was a worker at the mine, and earned roughly 20 drakes a day.
50 I gave Cartil the information I had gathered. He thanked me and asked me to take his report back to Nevrile for him, because he was worried that he would be punished for his time-wasting. I agreed to take the report back to Nevrile.
51 I gave Cartil the information I had gathered. He thanked me and asked me to take his report back to Nevrile for him, because he was worried that he would be punished for his time-wasting. I told him to take the report himself. He should face the consequences of his laxness.
60 Finishes quest  Nevrile thanked me for dealing with the census.
70 Finishes quest  Because I killed Cartil Florius, Nevrile refused to give me any more chores.
