Skyrim talk:Greenspring Hollow
Cleared prior to "Animal Extermination"Edit
I cleared this location before being sent there for Aela the Huntress's Animal Extermination quest. The target now points to a non-extistent sabre cat and I am stuck. — Unsigned comment by 74.195.136.84 (talk) at 06:41 on 23 January 2012
The same errorEdit
I have noticed that on every site I have been, the same error is reported: the non-existing sabrecat. This error often occurs when the player has cleared it before. I have the same error too. I know how to fix it. But I need the quest ID. Does anyone know it? — Unsigned comment by 77.251.51.12 (talk) at 14:02 on 14 February 2012
- Open the game, open the Console, and type "Setstage CR02 20", without the quotes, and both those "0"'s are zeros. — Unsigned comment by 71.56.148.160 (talk) at 02:21 on March 12, 2012
SolutionEdit
Go to Greenspring Hollow. Target the dead sabrecat with your mouse and hit the command button(under the escape button). Now type "resurrect". The sabrecat will come back to life allowing you to kill it for a second time and finishing the quest. This solution is only for pc users — Unsigned comment by 85.72.80.1 (talk) on 17 March 2012
Solution for Console users?Edit
This has been marked as a question that needs to be answered. |
I have somewhat of the same problem but cannot use the console to fix it as I play it on my Xbox360 rather than my PC.
The issue I'm having differs from the ones I've seen here in that the quest pointer isn't even pointing to the body of the Sabre Cat, since it has apparently disappeared since the first time I came here and killed it, and instead the pointer is just pointing to a spot on the ground in front of Greenspring Hollow. I've tried waiting 30 days for the "cleared" status to reset to try and kill the Cat again, but it doesn't seem to do so and has been listed as "cleared" after waiting 60+ in-game days. I understand that waiting right beside the hollow apparently stops the respawn timer from going down, so I tried waiting inside my house at Whiterun for another 40 days and it still hasn't switched from "cleared" status.
Any help would be appreciated. — Unsigned comment by 67.193.194.168 (talk) on 17 April 2012
- Dungeons never lose their cleared status. Most cleared dungeons will respawn at least some of their critters after 30 days spent away from the dungeon; however they will never lose the cleared flag. Usually the boss critter gets respawned after 30 days away at least. Note that you need to spend 30 days with no contact with the dungeon at all; coming near it on the world map will usually cause its timer to reset and you then have to wait another 30 days before it respawns properly. Dragon lairs also count as dungeons for this purpose. --Morrolan (talk) 03:16, 2 April 2013 (GMT)
USKP FixEdit
The reason for the sabre cat not respawning was due to the respawn flag not being checked in the game data for sabre cats. This bug is addressed by v. 2.0 of the USKP.[1] --Blackpete (talk) 03:59, 17 October 2013 (GMT)
Totem of Hircine LocationEdit
I got this site as the location for the second Totem of Hircine. Perhaps that should be added to the related quest section? I had cleared Greenspring Hollow on an earlier visit, but when I fast-travelled to the site with Aela to fetch the totem, there was a Cave Bear there. Don't know how or even if that relates to the reported problem of the Sabre Cat not spawning.24.159.122.98 07:18, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
