Data DumpEdit
Is there a way that we can 'dump' all the classes that have been noted so far in NPC info boxes? Folktaliesin 06:56, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
MeleeEdit
Is it really true that no classes advances One- or Two-Handed at all O.o? --Evil4Zerggin 03:07, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
- I find this rather strange, too. It would mean that a low-level mage can deal as many damage as a bandit leader. And anyone who's played this game knows it isn't true. 82.243.194.53 00:48, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
Npc Skill SetsEdit
Can someone post what skills npc classes use? It seems this page list doesnt show any class using one handed or two handed
Missing information..?Edit
"There may be some classes that appear identical to each other. The difference between such classes are the services offered, which are not listed here."
Why aren't they listed here? Where have they been listed? 114.77.6.119 09:39, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
- Because this is direct information on classes, classes always affect skills but don't always affect Services. Any service-related information will be on the relevant NPC page if its been added. if its not there assume we haven't got around to it yet. --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 15:33, 19 December 2011 (UTC)

Are these names editable or should they be considered set?

Sons of Skyrim Soldier | SoldierSonsSkyrimNotGuard | Stormcloak Soldier |
4 is the fastest?Edit
The article states this. However, there are three 5s and one 6 on the table (under Dragon and Dragon Priest). Should the main article be changed to reflect this? Jak Atackka 06:39, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
Class adviceEdit
Is there any class that specializes in Light Armor and One-Handed? In Oblivion this counterpart would be the Scout but this isn't the case for Skyrim, this Scout specializes in magic, archery and sneaking. — Unsigned comment by SFK363 (talk • contribs) at 11:22 on 07 April 2012
- In Skyrim, your player character doesn't have a class, so the ones listed on this page apply to NPCs only. That said, I believe Assassins, Rangers, and Spellswords include both Light Armor and One-Handed in their primary skills, though there may be others as well. ABCface◥ 06:04, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
- Looking at the table on this article, three other notable ones are Imperial Soldier, Jailor, and 'Sons of Skyrim Soldier'. There are others, but those have the highest value in the two skills you asked about. ABCface◥ 06:08, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
- Imperial Soldier's going to work fine for me, because I'm using console commands to prevent Bleak Falls Barrow from starting and I'm serving in the Imperial legion. I'm specializing in Imperial Soldier and Rogue/Assassin. SFK363 18:47, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

HP MAGICKA AND STAMINAEdit
This table represents how anything with this class will scale to any level right? So what about the hp mp and sp? Or is that manually done or tied to the enemy itself rather than its class? — Unsigned comment by 24.38.223.147 (talk) on 19 April 2012
FUNCTIONEdit
This has been marked as a question that needs to be answered. |
what do some of these stats even do on an npc? some are obvious like 1handed sneak or heavy armor. Some make sense if you play around with it like destruction and restoration(i think it determines which spells they use rather than their cost. with 25 needed for apprentice level ect, (but could be a coincidence for me would need more testing)) but what about smithing or speech? smithing may have been intended for weapon degrading before it was cut i guess but whats it do in game? they can't make potions or enchant items either and those stats only effect items you make at the time you did so not what you get out of using generic potions...maybe it has something to do with what they'll sell or carry but it doesn't seem to with me just playing around with the console. anybody know? 24.38.223.147
skills parameters incorrectEdit
A recent series of bot edits has severely munged the NCP skills parameters. To avoid that in the future, I propose each EditorID_skills be a separate template, where the textual data could be defined once, and transcluded via the NPC template into each page. For example, template "Citizen skills" would yield the text
Alchemy, Enchanting, Smithing, Archery, Light Armor, One-handed, Sneak, Speech
To better handle the few 4, 5, and 6 levels, I propose a new display italicized bold: "EncClassDragonPriest skills" would yield
Destruction, Conjuration, Restoration, Alteration
Conversely, the uncommon 1 could be simple italics. This first example showing all these would be "TrainerAlchemyExpert skills", yielding
Alchemy, Speech, Pickpocket, Sneak, Alteration
--DayDreamer 16:28, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
- No, the bot did not "munge" the NPC skill information. It fixed the NPC skill information -- while I was closely supervising all of the bot's edits, and had very consciously told the bot to change the skill information.
- The purpose of the skills section on each NPC page is to provide the skills that are highest for that specific NPC -- taking into account the NPC's level and race as well as class. Saying, for example, that Two-Handed skill has the highest weight for an NPC's class is irrelevant if the NPC is a level 1 Redguard and therefore has a Two-Handed skill of 15 -- that NPC is going to be better using a One-Handed weapon (skill 25) than a Two-Handed weapon, no matter what the class says.
- Creating 138 different templates to display each class' skills is completely impractical, bordering on even being impossible to implement and maintain. It would far more difficult to maintain hundreds of templates than to simply run the bot again if there is some new tweak/adjustment that needs to be be made. Furthermore, the templates would be useless, because they wouldn't be able to take into account the NPC's race and level and therefore would not be using a proper calculation of NPC's best skills.
- Furthermore, there isn't any reason to add extra emphasis for skills with weight>3. In most cases, those skills don't increase any more quickly than weight=3 skills for other classes. The values are all weights -- they don't directly determine how quickly the skill increases, but instead just determine how the fixed 8 skills/level are distributed. The dragon priest class with weights 3/5/6/5 is only marginally different from a class with weights 1/2/2/2. --NepheleTalk 04:43, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
Class advice (again)Edit
Now I want a class specializing in Light Armor, Block and One-Handed, that isn't a soldier in the civil war, or any class unrelated to battle (ex, Jailor is a civilized class, but Warrior is a battle class) SFK363 18:44, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
Strange way health formulae are writtenEdit
Take Sven:
Level PC×0.75 (range=6-20)
Health: 50+(PC-0.75)×6.2
The health formula implies that every time YOU level he gets 6.2 health,
whereas mine
50 + (LEVEL -1)*7.5, where LEVEL is HIS level, and HIS level is [1+ 0.75 *(PC-1)].
implies every time HE levels he gets 7.5.
IF an NPC can be level, say, 6.75 when I'm level 9, than the one on the page is fine, but if they cannot be non-integer levels, then it doesn't make much sense to write it the way it is written. This is extra confusing, since the function as written would not seem to be capped by the NPC's level cap; their health and magicka only depends on PC level as written, and not their own!— Unsigned comment by 24.200.26.45 (talk) at 15:25 on 2 September 2013
What happens when a class has more than 8 skills?Edit
So, the description of how leveling works for NPC classes says that the numbers are weights dividing the 8 skill points each level. However, I see at least 3 classes with more than 8 weighted skills: Farmer and Miner, with 9 each, and Beggar, with 11. How is it possible to divide 8 skill points among more than 8 skills?
On a related note, what happens when the skill points allotted per level work out to less than 1? For example, the CombatWarrior1H class has a skill weight total of 9 for only 8 skill points: 3 each for One-handed and Heavy Armor, 2 Each for Archery and Block, and 1 for Two-handed. That would mean that Two-handed gets less than 1 point per level, wouldn't it? But how does the game calculate that? Does it skip the skills that are less than 1? Does it only increase those skills every few levels? How does it work?
If anyone understands how this stuff works and could explain it, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!
