WalkthroughEdit

Camp atop the tower

The tower is at the end of a dirt path heading south from the road along the southern shore of Lake Ilinalta; the path is marked by a pile of rocks west of the junction with the road to Falkreath. Several thistles grow along the edge of the path, which curves east to approach the tower. The grim trophy of a spriggan on the left side of the path speaks to the depravity ahead. Just past the spriggan's remains, to the northwest is an iron ore vein. A flight of stone steps leads up to the arched tower entrance.

On the ground floor is a toppled set of shelves holding ruined books and gory human remains. To the right of the shelves are more gory remains on a stake beside curved stone stairs leading up. The only other items on this level are three barrels of ingredients and three food sacks. The stairs lead to the top of the tower, where you'll find a leveled necromancer. There is also the corpse of a female Khajiit, whom the necromancer will raise to assist in fighting you. She is not armed, however, so you can safely ignore her and concentrate on the necromancer. One way to deal with the necromancer is to keep moving forward while attacking, forcing them to retreat until they fall from the tower to their death.

A central campfire features a soul gem stand holding an empty common soul gem. Near the ruined wall is the necromancer's small tent containing a bedroll, a copy of the Conjuration skill book Liminal Bridges, and a copy of The Book of Daedra. The only other item of interest is an unlocked chest next to the tent.

NotesEdit

  • The location data for this cell refers to it as "Crossroads Watchtower". This causes the location to be referenced in the quest journal as such, as the journal pulls directly from the location data.
    •   The Unofficial Skyrim Patch, version 2.0.6, addresses this issue. The location is now referenced in the location data as "Falkreath Watchtower", consistent with the map marker.
