The Dead Scholar

In life, the Dead Scholar was a member of the College of Winterhold who was exploring Yngol Barrow. He made it as far as a room with a locked gate, which he attempted to open with a lever. Unfortunately this triggered a hail of poisoned darts and resulted in his death. Before making his fatal mistake, the scholar had translated the runes that decorate the walls of the room and written them in his Notes on Yngol Barrow. The notes will prove essential in avoiding the scholar's fate. He wears a set of fine clothes and a pair of fine boots.
