Detailed WalkthroughEdit
Go to the Hall of Justice in Vivec City, and talk to Beleru Omoril. She will inform you of a Telvanni wizard's experiment that's about to go out of control.
- "Dubdil Alar has always been a bit off his rocker, even for a Telvanni wizard. Apparently now things have gotten really out of hand. His apprentice Nara Varam needs help stopping whatever he's up to. And don't bother asking me what you need to stop."
- What do I need to do?
- "Head over to his tower and see what's going on. You've also been asked to collect any research notes you may find for the apprentice to study later.
Varam can fill you in on the details. She'll also have your pay if you manage to complete the job." - I'll get right to it.
Beleru Omoril recommends that you talk to Dubdil's apprentice, Nara Varam, if you want more information. She's in the central plaza in the Saint Olms Waistworks. Although she doesn't fully understand how the experiment works, she knows that it will alter the laws of reality and cause much chaos. She says she needs Dubdil Alar's Research Notes to help deal with the aftermath in case you're unable to halt the experiment. The notes will also assist her in determining what led Dubdil to conduct such dangerous research.
Once you've finished acquiring information, travel to Dubdil Alar Tower, located south of Vos. Dubdil is starting his experiment and is surrounded by Research Assistants. He starts drawing power, but something goes horribly wrong: the Research Assistants burst into flame and groups of Skaafin start appearing. After you have defeated several waves of Skaafin, Mehz the Cozener emerges through a rift. Mehz the Cozener is a World Boss, so be prepared for a difficult fight. After killing him, activate the Transmutational Breach in the center of the experiment to close the rift. Taking too long to do this will result in Dubdil Alar being killed. Finally, be sure to grab the Research Notes lying on top of a nearby rock.
Return to Nara Varam with the Research Notes and speak to her to complete the quest. Her dialogue will differ depending on whether Dubdil survived or not, but either way she will be grateful and start investigating his notes.
