The Pale Watch is a rogue Breton knightly order found inside Watcher's Hold in Wrothgar. The order was originally stationed in the hold by King Maxevian of Daggerfall, at a time of great hostilities between the Breton and the Orcs.
Following the fall of the first Orsinium, the Pale Watch remained at their post. Their hatred of the Orcs remained well into the rebuilding of the second Orsinium. Rudderless and angered at seeing the Orcs rebounding after the loss of their first city, the knights have turned to banditry and killing of Orc travelers.
Now that the Bretons and Orcs have become allies under the Daggerfall Covenant, this has even led to High King Emeric to contact them to ask to cease their hostilities, lest they be destroyed.
