To Aid Davon's WatchEdit

You can meet him before starting Stonefalls's storyline.

As you approach him, you'll hear him mutter:

"Skeletons or Daggers. Dry scales, I'm not sure what's worse."

Speak to him.

"Who sent you? Holgunn? No, I'm sure it was Tanval."
Neither. What are you doing out here?
"I'm on orders to scout the area. It's … it's just a relief to know that no one's checking up on me. Or calling me back to Davon's Watch. Things aren't looking good back there."
What's going on at Davon's Watch?
"The Daggerfall Covenant. Troops have surrounded the city. If you want to help, find General Holgunn. He can use another blade, I'm sure. Davon's Watch is on the northeastern shore of Stonefalls."
I'll find him and see what I can do.

If he's spoken to again, he'll say:

"Safe travels. I must stay here on orders. Believe me, I'd rather be returning to Davon's Watch with you. The undead never sit well with me."

Mystery of OthrenisEdit

As you approach him with the message sent by Garyn:

"You startled me! Are you playing tricks on me, dryskin?"
Garyn sent me. How can I help?
"Oh. That's good, then. I'm pleased to see a friendly snout. That's much better than all the dead faces lately.
Why is it Elves who die cannot stay in the ground?"

Wake the DeadEdit

Approaching him if you haven't started the quest:

"I'm not a brave Argonian. I shouldn't be doing this."

He will need assistance with his task:

"'Just read some old runes,' he said. He didn't mention how … active the dead are here."
What can I do to help?
"You're the sun on my scales. Your answer lies with Mavos Siloreth. He bound the Brother of Strife long ago.
We need his knowledge, but a highborn like him could be … um, difficult."
How do we make Mavos cooperate?
"Oh, you can't make a highborn serve! You need flattery. If we're properly respectful, he may appear.
My scrolls say there's a shrine on the east rise and one on the west. Honor him at both, Then meet me at the center of Othrenis."
I'll do this.

You can ask him a few question after accepting the quest.

"Go. And remember—try to sound humble when you chant Mavos' name.
When you meet me at the center of Othrenis, be ready. There is more to do there."
How did Mavos learn how to bind Balreth?
"Mavos is ancient, so he knew ancient secrets. How else?
He helped bind this dangerous weapon, but he died a long, long time ago."
Why was Balreth bound?
"During the First Era, the Chimer created the Brothers of Strife in a desperate bid to defeat their enemies.
Look what it did in a single day! My scales shrivel thinking about that heat. Who would let it roam free?"

After chanting at the shrines, you'll meet him at the center of Orenthis:

"By my egg! You startled me. Please, no more.
Were you very humble as you sought the honor of Mavos' presence?"
Yes. What's the next step, Onuja?
"It's time. Honor Mavos at the brazier in the center of Othrenis.
By the way, the dead may want your blood for daring to disturb a highborn. I'll just wait over here until you're done."

Speaking with him after this exchange:

"I know, my friend. I should help you, but you're so much braver than I am.
Go, honor Mavos once more. We must know what he knows."

Speaking to him while fighting off the waves of ghosts:

"Defend the statue!"

After waking Mavos:

"You make it look easy. At least, what I saw when I wasn't hiding and squealing like a hatchling.
I know I'm not brave. But did you hear his voice? Mavos has returned."
Great. Where can I find him?
"He's important, so he gets the important-looking tomb. It's the largest crypt in the necropolis.
I'll … uh … be gathering my notes. Don't wait for me."

Speaking with him after this exchange:

"I'm not trained for this! Copying papers. I could do that. Or maybe read scrolls behind the front line. Not this.
Go, talk to Mavos, so I can leave this dry place."

To Ash MountainEdit

Onuja will give you this quest. He is cowering at the base of the stairs where you were talking to Mavos. As you approach, he says:

"Hurry! You must go quickly!"

Speak to him to begin the quest.

"It's true. I was cowering here, but I was hoping you would survive the entire time.
Um, did you learn how to bind Balreth?"
Yes, I'm ready. What now?
"Ash Mountain. Go north to the mountainside. Garyn Indoril took troops there to deal with Balreth.
They're still there, if he hasn't killed them all. I'm not going to find out."
I'll find Garyn and tell him what I've learned.

Speaking with him after accepting the quest:

"Go, friend. Find the troops at Ash Mountain.
I'll just wait here until they don't notice me, and then I'll make a break for it."
