Old Hjaalsdottir is supposed to be a legendary fish that Thane Hraldi and his family have been trying to catch for generations.
During the related quest, after returning with pungent bait and throwing it in the lake northwest of Jarl Morryn's Cabin, the creature slightly emerges from the water's surface and must be given chase. After getting tired, it stops on the shore, where it is finally revealed to be actually a horker.
Disappointed, Hraldi agrees to attend Rigurt's meeting and lets the horker go.
