Someone stole several relics from a cart in Hissmir. I offered to help Wareem find the culprit.
Quick WalkthroughEdit
- Talk to Wareem.
- Search the cart and interview the pilgrims.
- Search for the thief.
- Return to Wareem.
Detailed WalkthroughEdit
Wareem is sitting on a bench on the southwest corner of Hissmir's xanmeer. Speak to her to begin the quest:
- "Who would take the relics? Their only value is historic!"
- What relics?
- "Three simple stone pieces, part of our heritage. No jewels, no gold, nothing a dryskin could value. Theft isn't unknown in Hissmir, but it's rare enough I wouldn't know where to start looking for the culprit."
- I could help you find your missing relics.
- "Such ardor! You might consider undergoing the Trials of the Burnished Scales, if you haven't already.
I would welcome any help. I stored the relics in this cart. Perhaps one of the pilgrims observed something I did not." - I'll ask the pilgrims.
Wareem is sitting next to a cart with a keg on top of it. Inspect the cart.
- <Someone clearly ransacked this cart. Upon closer examination, you spot a small piece of ragged red cloth caught under a loose nail.>
Next, you need to interview Xula, Tulut, and Kaloo. Let's start with Xula:
- "You would speak with me?"
- Do you know anything about the stolen relics?
- "It happened last night. That's all I know."
- Thanks for your time.
Next, Tulut. If you have the Intimidating Presence perk and if you've inspected the cart, then you can press her for enough details to skip talking to Kaloo.
- "You would speak with me?"
- Someone stole relics from Wareem's cart last night. Did you see anything?
- "I heard a strange noise by her cart. I saw one of my people, wearing a red jerkin and … and that's all I know."
- [Intimidate] You're hesitating. Did you take the relics? Out with it!
- "I had nothing to do with it! Whoever it was ran to the east. That's all I know!"
- Thanks for your help.
If you didn't press Tulut, then speak with Kaloo:
- "The winds carry strange seeds to Hissmir. Will they take root?"
- Some relics were stolen last night. Did you see anything suspicious?
- "I saw nobody, but during the later watches last night I woke when I heard someone running to the east. Perhaps it was the thief?"
- Thank you for your help.
Once you've finished gathering information, head east and inspect the trash pile by the door to Hidden-Hands's Hut.
- <You notice a torn red shirt buried in the trash pile.>
Next, enter the hut and speak to Hidden-Hands:
- "Kaoc! Do you make a habit of barging into houses?"
- The pilgrims saw you rummaging through Wareem's cart last night.
- "I know nothing about stolen relics. Now, get out of my house!"
- I never mentioned relics.
- "Wait! Some High Elf pilgrim offered my tail's weight in gold for those things. But after he saw them, he said they were useless!
Take the relics. I want nothing to do with any of this." - You should go.
Speak to Wareem to return the relics and complete the quest:
- "Did you recover our stolen relics?"
- I recovered the relics from Hidden-Hands.
- "Our relics, stolen by one of our own? He knew their lack of worth to outsiders. Perhaps his egg spent too much time in the shade before his hatching.
No matter, it's enough you've returned them to us."

I should search the cart for clues and ask nearby pilgrims if they witnessed anything.

The clues I've found point me to an Argonian in a red jerkin. Witnesses saw someone matching that description. Supposedly, he or she fled to the east. If the culprit is still here, I should search any dwellings or buildings in that area.
Objective: Search for the Culprit

I found a torn red jerkin outside a house in Hissmir. I should see if the relics are inside.
