Send the elements to sap an enemy's defenses and afflict them with Major Breach for 30 seconds, reducing their Physical and Spell Resistance by 5948. Every 7.5 seconds the enemy is afflicted with the Burning, Chilled, and Concussion status effect.

Send the elements to sap an enemy's defenses and afflict them with Major Breach for [57 / 58 / 59 / 60] seconds, reducing their Physical and Spell Resistance by 5948. Also applies Minor Magickasteal to the enemy for [57 / 58 / 59 / 60] seconds, causing you and your allies to restore 168 Magicka every 1 second when damaging them.

Weakness to Elements reduces an enemy's Physical and Spell Resistance. It has no casting cost, and is instant, so the only thing you're giving up is a slot on your weapon bar, to make all of your attacks more effective. The Elemental Susceptibility morph lasts for 1 minute and applies Burning, Chilled and Concussion every 7.5 seconds, while Elemental Drain restores Magicka to anyone who deals damage to the target.

NotesEdit

  • Elemental Drain is a recommended morph for the Deathweaver build.
  • Casting Weakness to Elements or Elemental Drain on a target is not treated as an attack and will not trigger a response from the target. Elemental Susceptibility is treated as an attack.
  • With Update 28, the amount of magicka returned by Minor Magickasteal was reduced from 300 to 168.

Patch NotesEdit

  • Elemental Drain: This passive ability's magicka restore will no longer erroneously trigger on damage-over-time ticks, or multiple times for a single ability cast.
  • This ability will no longer agro monsters. Using this ability on a target that is already affected now properly refreshes the duration instead of removing it. This ability also now has a graphical effect.
  • This ability now has no cost and can be applied to multiple targets, and now afflicts the target (or targets) with the debuff Major Spell Resistance Reduction for 18 seconds.
  • Elemental Susceptibility (morph): This ability now refreshes its duration when you damage the affected target.
  • Elemental Drain: Fixed an issue where multiple ranks of this ability could stack their magicka restore.
  • Elemental Susceptibility (morph): Fixed an issue where the visual effects were not being refreshed whenever the debuff from this morph was refreshed.
  • Fixed an issue where some weapon abilities (Blade Cloak, Volley, and Wall of Elements) could not proc Weapon Enchantments.
  • Adjusted the order of the Active Abilities in this skill line. They now unlock in the following order:
  • Elemental Drain (morph): This morph no longer restores a flat value of Magicka whenever you deal Flame, Frost, or Shock Damage to the target. Instead, it applies Minor Magickasteal to them.
  • Elemental Susceptibility (morph): This morph now persists indefinitely, until the target leaves combat or dies, rather than lasting 20 seconds and refreshing whenever they take damage from you.
  • Elemental Susceptibility (morph): Reworked this morph to no longer last until the target leaves combat, and instead increases the duration to 1 minute. While this ability is active, the target is afflicted with Burning, Chilled, or Concussion every 6 seconds.
  • Increased the duration of this morph to 30 seconds at its final rank, up from 20.
    • Elemental Drain (morph): This morph now increases the duration to 60 seconds at its final rank, up from 23.
    • Elemental Susceptibility (morph):
      • This morph now applies each elemental status effect (Burning, Chilled, AND Concussed) every 6 seconds, rather than applying a random of the three every 6 seconds.
      • This morph no longer gains extended duration and now lasts 30 seconds, down from 60.
      • Fixed an issue where the status effects from this ability could fail to apply.
      • Increased the range to 35 meters at rank IV, up from 33 meters.
    • Developer Comment: We're moving around some of the morph diversity here to reinforce use case and define the power of each. Since Elemental Drain focuses on being more of a pure debuff, the duration extension feels more appropriate there, while Elemental Susceptibility reinforces the offensive bonuses we added a few patches back.
  • Elemental Susceptibility:
    • This morph's secondary effects are now tracked separately, rather than being linked to Major Breach. This will allow the status effects from the ability to continue while multiple applications are active, or when other sources of Major Breach apply and override this.
    • Reduced the tick frequency to 7.5 seconds, down from 6.
