"In designing Dusk Keep, I felt it prudent to accentuate its nature as an overlook. An outward facing edifice that confronts the future head-on, while safeguarding the past. A duty I believe all High Elves should aspire to." -Lady Ahnora of Rellenthil
Dusk Keep

Dusk Keep is an isolated tower along the southeastern coastline of Summerset. It was said to have been designed by Lady Ahnora of Rellenthil. The door to the keep is locked but during a related quest, you gain access to the interior of Dusk Keep, and it is filled with Ceythalmor agents.

A copy of the book Investigator Vale: Retinue of Shambles, Part 1 can be found near an abandoned yet still lit campfire beneath the arches along with a chest and heavy sack that can spawn here. The lorebook Before the Ages of Man: Dawn Era can be found by some crates up on the walkway.

Another book, Ertival's Recounting, is found near the entrance to the keep. A chest can spawn in a sailboat anchored along the shore northeast of the keep.

NotesEdit

  • Dusk Keep previously appeared as a major city in Arena, simply known as Dusk.
  • In early cut drafts for ESO's south Summerset zone of Varyllis, Dusk was a city home to expert smiths (or "Master Metalwrights") known as the Scintillants, and the beaches of the city were subject to a Maormer invasion. The Maormer had also banished Auri-El from his place in the sky, so High Kinlady Astraela of Dusk helped in forging Phynaster's Ring from pieces of the Shattered Crown, which was spread throughout crypts in the city, to return the deity to his rightful place.
    • The Tower of Dusk is based off the Umbral Tower, found on a lone island immediately south of the Scintilla Kinhouse in the bay to the east. Talrien the Archivist (who ended up becoming Telenger the Artificer) would be studying in the deep underground chambers of the Tower and help free the trapped Ascendant spirits from their reliquaries in the Umbral Tower by touching the Pyxides of Ashes. This tower was later adapted into Dusk Keep.
