There are many unowned containers and provisioning ingredients within the cave. A frost atronach is present within the cave during the related quest.

You will need to meet Alphrost at the cave during the quest. When you do, he informs you that Igudhan, the frost atronach inside the cave has thawed and awakened. It was used to keep the rotmeth cool, but the town is in danger now that its summoner is dead, and nobody can rebind it. You will need to kill the atronach.
