Arawende

Arawende is a High Elf magister who runs the Lilmoth Mages Guild branch. Though she has been sent by the guild to study the Argonians' magic, she finds their explanations frustratingly abstract.

DialogueEdit

If you're not part of the guild, she can sign you on:

"Greetings. Dare I hope you're here to inquire about joining the Mages Guild?"
The Mages Guild?
"We seek to broaden the scope of mortal knowledge. Our members wander far and wide in search of tomes and scrolls, and then we catalogue and preserve for future generations.
If you join our order, you can expect to fulfill these duties."
What do I get in return?
"Our research has furnished us with unique spells and abilities that we can teach to members. Those who are enterprising may also find special missions to perform. In some cases, alongside Guildmaster Vanus."
Very well. I'd like to join the Mages Guild.
"Splendid! Then I bid you welcome to our order, with all responsibility and reward that brings. Any tomes or texts you recover will elevate your standing in the guild. Good hunting!"

If you're part of the guild, she says:

"While I wouldn't call the Argonians of Murkmire verbose, they've certainly been forthcoming about their practices. Now if I only understood half of what they say …."
"The way some of these Argonian mages talk about their magic is … frustrating, to say the least. "A smidgen of this root, a pinch of that. Feel the wind! Let the earth move you!
Really, how can one practice under such uncontrolled conditions?"
"There is conclusive evidence that Argonian magic is fundamentally different than the practices of mer and man. The Mages Guild wishes to study those differences, and see what can be learned from them."
"I've spoken to many mages in Murkmire about their practices, and most have been happy to share. But the way they speak is so — metaphorical. Abstract. Overall, near impossible for an outsider to understand."
