Detailed WalkthroughEdit
Enthis Hlan in Nimalten tells you that another Dunmer, Turil, had bandits attack him and steal his silk outside of town. He says that the guards aren't helping him, and asks you to retrieve his silk for him.
- "I'm going to kill that old Dunmer. He's probably laughing, enjoying a drink, thinking me dead."
- Who? What are you talking about?
- "Turil, that old netch. He set bandits after me! They assaulted me on the road and took my silk. I want the bandits dead, and Turil in irons!"
- Have you reported him to the thane's guard?
- "They said they're dealing with the bandits, but don't believe me about Turil. He did this, I am certain!
I'll pay you if you get my silk from him. I've looked for him throughout the town, except the Inn. I bet he's there." - I'll get your silk back.
Enter the tavern and talk to Turil, who now claims Enthis hired the bandits to attack and rob him. If you Intimidate Turil, he confesses to hiring the bandits, but tells you that she stole from him as well.
- Enthis claims you hired bandits to steal his silk.
- "That bastard sent the bandits on me! Their leader, Chanda, told me he hired her. I was lucky to escape alive.
Look, how about I pay you to steal back the silk from Chanda? You'll find her camp to the east." - [Intimidate] How did you know the leader's name? Don't lie to me.
- "Okay, I hired her to attack him. But she still stole my silk. Listen, forget about killing all those bandits. Would you just retrieve my silk?"
Head west outside of town to find the bandit's camp. Climb the tower in the western part of the camp to find the bag with a note from Chanda addressed to you, and a small amount of silk to give to one of the two Dunmer, or to destroy if you wish. Regardless, you must return to the tavern to make your decision.
Before you make your decision, you may confront Turil and Enthis about their lies.
When confronted, Enthis claims Turil steals his customers, and claims to have a starving family in Stonefalls.
- You hired Chanda to attack Turil.
- "I … I had to! Turil steals my customers, bad-mouths my wares. Plus, I have a starving family in Stonefalls. Would you doom my poor family?"
When you confront Turil, he claims that the money ge makes from silk trading goes to suffering war refugees.
- You hired Chanda to attack Enthis.
- "Yes. Yes, I did. And I'll tell you why. I've not told anyone this, but the money I make with this silk? It goes to suffering war refugees. If you give me my silk back, you save hungry familes torn apart by war."
If you throw it in the fire and talk to Enthis afterwards, he will say:
- "My hero returns with my spun gold. I will buy you a pint as soon as you …"
- Just stop talking. I've destroyed the silk.
- "Sheogorath must have touched my mind. I could have sworn you just said the silk has been destroyed."
- You're a liar and a cheat, Enthis.
- "Oh, you're a priest now? Morally superior? To Oblivion with you! You know. I might just buy Turil a drink. Yes. Have a little chat about who's going to stab you to death!"
If you choose to talk to Turil afterwards, he will say:
- "My friend. You return, with my valuable property all in …"
- I've destroyed the silk.
- "You … you what? Why would you do that?"
- You're a liar and a cheat, Turil.
- "Just, just stop talking. I can't bear the sound of your voice. It's time I put aside this feud with Enthis. It's clear we have much in common, such as hiring assassins to stab silk-rippers to death!"
If you choose to give the silk to Turil, he will say:
- "Did ... did you notice that? Just now, as you handed me the silk. The sun shone through the clouds. Thank you. And look at Enthis over there. May he suffocate behind a pile of mammoth dung.:"
If you talk to Enthis after you give the silk to Turil, he will say:
- "Taking coin from Turil? To steal from me? The three take you!:"
If you choose to give the silk to Enthis, he will say:
- "You...you're a hero to honest businessmen everywhere. I'll teach my children songs about you! Look at Turil glowering. I hope he gets a disease and drowns in his own fluids.:"
Speak to Turil after you give the silk to Enthis and he will say:
- "You gave away my silk to that...that netch. Does it bring you joy to steal from an old Dark Elf?"
You can the complete the quest and receive a silk velvet sash and an average amount of gold.

- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
