Jean Ciscotte imprisoned in Broken Fang Cave

Jean Ciscotte, a Breton commoner, is a simple boy who shares a mutual love with the rich and beautiful Morihatha Stirk. The two met in High Rock while she was on a business trip with her father but were then separated when she returned home. In a bid to be see her again, Jean undertook the voyage to Stirk aboard the Kintyra II. When the ship sunk, he was taken captive by goblins in Broken Fang Cave. It is up to you to rescue him and reunite the two young lovers.

He wears a pair of light brown linens alongside a brown shirt.

At the start of the game, Jean simply stands around in his case in Broken Fang Cave. Once rescued, he seeks out Morihatha for a joyful reunion and then settles down into a simple schedule of sleeping with his love from 10pm to 4am and then hanging around Stirk Manor for the rest of the day.

When you first encounter him in the cave, Jean will beg you "Please help me. My name is Jean Ciscotte, and I am trying to find a place called Stirk." If you tell him that you have already heard about him from Morihatha, he will follow up with "By the Nine. It has been so long since I last saw my Mori. So, you've traveled to this stinking cesspool just to find me? Then you must take me to Stirk!"

Either way, he will tell you his story. The dialogue is slightly different if you already knew about him, but both are largely similar: "Oh, blessed be Kynareth, that the winds have blown me here. I should explain. I was a deckhand a ship called the Kintyra II, headed to Stirk. I had met the love of my life in Wayrest, a woman named Morihatha. But her father would not allow us to be wed. So we left each other broken-hearted, but vowing to meet again some day. And so I took passage on the Kintyra II. But somehow Stendarr found it just for my Mori's father, Cassius Stirk, to be aboard the same ship. He did not see me when I saw him, so I was lucky and safe. Many days later, just after leaving Hegathe, I was sent to the hold for some ale. While there, I accidentally opened the wrong crate. It was just my luck that I should find bottles of skooma in this crate! And even more unlucky, you can guess who walked in upon me at that moment. The captain of the ship, a Redguard by the name of Steller, and Cassius Stirk himself! Captain Steller threw me in the brig, and Mr. Stirk thought I was a smuggler! I thought my life could be no worse, when one night, the ship began to sink. It capsized, and I found myself swimming frantically in the Abecean. I thought I was saved when I saw a boat, and was helped into it. As I passed out from exhaustion, I saw that the face looking down at me was not a man's, but a goblin's. And so I awoke here, with two other captives: Captain Steller and Cassius Stirk. We overcame our differences, and they grew to believe my story. But still, we were trapped. First they killed the captain, and then they killed Cassius. If you hadn't come, I would be next. Thank you so much for saving me. I am forever grateful. Now, please, take me to Morihatha."

On the journey to town, he will ask you "Do you want to keep going to Mori or should I stay here?" if you ever engage him in conversation, and end with "Wonderful, we're here. Thank you for all your help." when you arrive.

NotesEdit

  • When he is finally reunited with Morihatha, she will ask about her father to which Jean replies "I'm sorry, Mori, he didn't make it. We reconciled before his death, and he wanted me to tell you that he loves you, with all his heart.", and after she tells him how good it is to see him, he says "It is. By Stendarr, I had thought I would never see you again." However, as there is no voice acting and it is a cut scene, you will never hear these lines. The only way to read these lines is to have general subtitles turned on in Options.
