Brother Hjar

Brother Hjar is a Nord Moth Caretaker residing at the Temple of the Ancestor Moths in the Jerall Mountains north of Cheydinhal.

Brother Hjar lives a rather quiet existence in the settlement. He wakes up at 6am and starts the day with a two-hour breakfast. At 8am, he enters the chapel and kneels before the statues, praying silently with Brother Holger and Brother Hridi until 11am. His whole afternoon is spent wandering around just outside the Monk's Quarters until he goes inside at 6pm. At 8pm he takes a two-hour dinner and then immediately goes to bed.

He is garbed in the traditional white monk robes of the Ancestor Moth, along with a pair of clogs. He carries the key to the Temple and a small amount of gold.

DialogueEdit

As with the other monks, his greeting will vary depending on whether he is praying in the chapel or not:

"What can this peaceful monk do for you, stranger?"
"Shhh! This is our time for silent prayer. You may wait outside, or quietly in here. We usually finish around the eleventh bell."

He can also provide the same generic information as Brother Hridi on the other monks (provided his disposition is at least 70) while always feigning ignorance about Savilla's Stone:

Blind monks
"I don't understand what you mean. We can see just fine."
"We serve the retired Moth priests from the Imperial City. The work they do leads to progressive blindess. They live in utter darkness in the secret catacombs. Of course it doesn't affect them because they are blind."
Savilla's Stone
"I have no idea what you are talking about."

As with the other monks, he will always say goodbye with:

"May you always wear soft silks."

Occasionally, the two other Monks will approach him and comment on his work:

"The silk gardens are doing well, brother Hjar."
"Brother Hjar, we must clean the chapel soon."
