Brellin

Brellin is a Wood Elf crusader added by the Knights of the Nine official download. He appears at the Priory of the Nine and requests to become a Knight of the Nine after you have completed The Sword of the Crusader quest. Once he is a knight, his name becomes Sir Brellin.

When you first meet Brellin, he will wear leather boots, greaves, and cuirass. Once recruited, he wears the same armor as all other Knights of the Nine: chainmail boots, gauntlets, greaves, and helmet with a Knight of the Nine Cuirass and a Knights of the Nine Shield. He sleeps in sack cloth pants, a collared shirt, and a pair of rough leather shoes. In combat, he wields an elven shortsword and carries four leveled restore health potions (0-4, 75% chance for each individual potion). He carries a hoe for tending to the garden during his downtime between adventures. Brellin also knows a leveled set of random crusader spells, as well as one extra minor restore health spell.

The Blessing of TalosEdit

Once you've completed the Priory of the Nine quest, you may hear Elves in Bravil refer to Brellin:

"Did you meet Brellin? He stopped by here on his way to become a knight. At least that's what he said."

As soon as you have completed The Sword of the Crusader quest, Brellin will appear in the Chapel, sat behind the rest of the knights. When first speaking to him, he will state his name and offer his services to the Knights of the Nine:

"Sir Knight, allow me to introduce myself. I am Brellin of Silvenar, at your service. I come to offer myself as a knight in service of Auri-El, or Akatosh as he is known in Cyrodiil. I bring nothing but my skill with the blade, which is not inconsiderable, and my devotion to the Lord Auri-El. Will you accept me, as unworthy as I am?"
I accept. Welcome to the Order.
"I am honored to join the Order under your illustrious command. Excuse me while I go the armory and attire myself as befits a Knight of the Nine."
You are not yet worthy.
"You are no doubt correct. I will continue to train and meditate here at the Priory until I become worthy to serve Auri-El."

If you do not immediately knight him, on subsequent greetings he will again ask:

"My devotion to Auri-El will not flag, nor will my desire to become a Knight of the Nine. Will you have me?"

Once you accept him into the Order, he will momentarily leave to change into his knightly gear before returning to his pew to listen to the Prophet's sermon. Once it is finished, he will set off running towards Garlas Malatar.

Umaril the UnfeatheredEdit

When you arrive at Garlas Malatar, Brellin will be stood outside ready to fight. Once you give the order or simply enter into the ruins, he will charge inside and attack any Auroran he can find. He will continue to battle until you destroy the Dark Orb in the second zone, after which you'll be separated.

Once you return to the Priory having defeated Umaril, he will listen to Sir Thedret's speech before cheering your success by clapping and exclaiming:

"Hail! Hail! Hail!"

AftermathEdit

With the Order restored, if Brellin hasn't joined the Order yet he can be found wandering around the Priory House all day, only breaking for sleep between midnight and 6am.

If he was knighted and survived the battle, he will fall into a regular routine at the Priory. After waking up at 6am, he immediately heads outside and tends to the garden next to the Chapel for the next three hours. At 9am he heads back to the Priory House and until midday he can be found conversing with his fellow knights, who will greet him with: "Hail, Sir Brellin." After this he heads to the back of the Priory to practice his archery for three hours and then sits down for an early dinner at 3pm. At 6pm he spends three hours relaxing before heading downstairs to the basement at 9pm to practice his melee skills, which he does until his bedtime at midnight.

Brellin can also be asked to follow you:

Come with me
"I'm yours to command, Sir Knight."
Follow me.
"I'm yours to command, Sir Knight."
Wait here.
"I'll wait for you to return."
Return to your duties.
"Certainly, Sir Knight."

Should he die in combat, he will be replaced by a generic male Nord Knight of the Nine and his fellow knights will reminisce about him:

"I can't stop thinking about Sir Brellin. About how he died..."
"Do you remember Sir Brellin? His death still troubles me, at times. I don't know why. A knight should not fear death, and yet..."

NotesEdit

  • It is possible for Brellin to be stuck permanently following you if you trigger the Knights of the Nine follower bug; see the NPC Bugs section for details.
  • Brellin joins the Knights of the Nine faction after his arrival at the Priory.
