BlankenmarchEdit
Should we add a little note mentionong blankenmarch? --Kharwog 22:05, 14 June 2013
- What about it? Jeancey (talk) 06:29, 15 June 2013 (GMT)
- I think we should add a bit saying the villages of Blankenmarch, Border Watch, and Water's Edge are in Blackwood. Also, I think we should say the headquarters for the Knights of the White Stallion are here. -- -Kharwog 21:14, 15 June 2013
- All those are present in oblivion, yes, but we have no evidence that they have been there for a long period of time in lore. If they don't have a lore page already, then they probably shouldn't be in the Blackwood article. If the locations have a lore page, then go ahead and add them. - Ok,I'll just add something about the White Stallion since it has a lore page, but I have just one more question. Should I add something about the Khajiiti village of Border Watch, for the "K'Sharra Prophecy" has to do with lore, but it may be considered just village folklore. -- Kharwog 21:28, 15 June 2013

Map ImageEdit
An edited Oblivion map highlighing the region was added to the page. I've moved it here per our image guidelines on edited images in lorespace. Personally I'd prefer to have an in-game screenshot representing the region rather than a user-made and game-specific map, so I'm putting it up for discussion. —Legoless (talk) 23:25, 8 July 2014 (GMT)
- I would prefer to have both. Especially when you're talking about a geographic region, it makes sense to show a map highlighting that region's extent. And the map is not user-made; it's the official, best map of the area with purely aesthetic highlighting of the area in discussion. -- Hargrimm(T) 02:49, 9 July 2014 (GMT)

- I agree that we should have both, with preference and priority given to a screenshot. Highlighting a geographical region to show its extent is standard (see eg Connacht shown within Ireland), but it does indeed fall under the clause of Images which have been altered by editors to highlight relevant portions may only be added to the lore pages once a favorable consensus has been reached by discussion. The map would need a caption of something like "Blackwood shown within Cyrodiil, circa 3E 433". If ESO introduces Blackwood as an Adventure Zone later on, that may show a different regional extent and would need to be included as well. --Enodoc (talk) 08:18, 9 July 2014 (GMT)

- Yes, while I really like the idea of these region images - the issue of where borders lie is somewhat speculative and open for some. Is game/cell data the method rpeh used to draw these borders? Game data can be a bit iffy. I'd also prefer an in-game screenshot of the region if possible, but I'm still unsure if we can trust game data as an accurate lore representation of regions. --Jimeee (talk) 14:00, 9 July 2014 (GMT)

- We can state in an image caption that it shows the approximate dimensions of the region circa 3E 433, but I think the color-coded maps rpeh made are too useful to ignore. They give readers a better understanding of the scope of the region than we could hope to convey in text. It's truly a situation where a picture is worth of a thousand words.
