"Strange and deadly creatures await you in Tribunal, including goblins, lich lords, and the mysterious Fabricants. Powerful new armor and weapons will aid you in your survival, and your adventures will be documented in the improved journal system and an annotatable map. The fate of Morrowind is in your hands...again."

FabricantEdit

A magical fabrication of machine and flesh. For the Tribunal creatures I had a much larger polygon budget than most of the creatures I had created for Morrowind. These new creatures came in at around 2500 polygons and had larger textures, so it was a great experience for me. Lots of room for all those bumps, scutes and scale which I so enjoy painting!

The hulking fabricant seen here seemed almost scorpion like to me and so I based it's movement on that idea. I animated both these characters, which was a nice change of pace as I had been pumping out two textured character models a week for Mythic Entertainment for it's "Dark Age of Camelot" series of games. Although very enjoyable I was hankering after some animation at the end of that contract. And these two creatures fit the bill exactly. It's approximately 2500 polygons, with a 512x512 texture map.

When animating this fabricant, I tried to give it a scoropion-like quality, with tail spike and multiple legs it seemed to lend itself to that style of movement..

I'm fairly pleased how both these creatures came out, and it was a nice change to work on something with a more Sci-fi feel to it, something I haven't done since my work on the aborted Traveller RPG.

A close up of the creature Obviously I couldn't resist adding some dragon like qualities to it. :o)

Dwarven mechanoidEdit

The model again used 2500 polygons and a 512x512 texture. I use Painter for most of my texture work, a tool I've been using since Daggerfall. I prefer it to Photoshop as I find it closer to "real" painting. Believe it or not this IS from the Elder Scrolls series. It's a Dwarven construct, and so I was very worried that it looked too modern, so initially I "aged" it, but it does look very modern to me.
