This category tracks all uses of #inherit, #return, and the various Namespace and Pagename functions/variables. Apart from #return, these should be convertible to Lua code in MediaWiki 1.35+. Anything that #returns a value from a subtemplate to a template can be converted to a standard Lua function in a larger module. Those that #return values to the article itself may need to be redesigned, as it doesn't appear that Lua allows anything like this.
