Detailed WalkthroughEdit
A sleepless CaptainEdit
You'll find Thormoor Gray-Wave standing alone looking out to sea on the western coast of the Island (about half-way up the western coast at Thormoor's Watch). He'll tell you the sad tale of how he fell asleep at the rudder of a ship, causing it to crash and kill almost everyone on board. A seer who survived the wreck cursed Thormoor with eternal wakefulness and he hasn't been able to sleep in six months. The seer's name is Geilir the Mumbling and Thormoor asks if you could convince Geilir to lift his curse.
Find the SeerEdit
You might have already come across Geilir in his cave just a bit to the southeast from Thormoor. You may have to complete The Sad Seer quest before the seer will agree to lift the curse. Once you've done that small task, speak to Geilir about eternal wakefulness and the seer will lift the curse on the captain.
Rest, finallyEdit
Return to Thormoor for his thanks and his promise to reward you later when you meet with him in the Thirsk Mead Hall, after he's rested. Over an ale, he'll tell you of Gyldenhul Barrow, a dungeon filled with a fortune, which you can have as your reward. He'll mark the entrance on your map and give you the key, as the door is locked (100) tight.
NotesEdit
- Gyldenhul Barrow has 10,110 gold sitting on the floor, two Raw Stalhrim, Ebony and Glass Armor, and other precious items.
- It is possible to get into and loot Gyldenhul Barrow without doing this quest. It has a lock level of 100, but anyone skilled enough at Security, can cast a 100pt Open spell or who can find a Scroll of Ekash's Lock Splitter is able to break in.
- If you kill Geilir, Thormoor's disposition drops to zero when you return.

10 | While walking along the western coast of Solstheim I met a man named Thormoor Gray-Wave, staring out to sea. Thormoor was once a ship captain, but fell asleep at the rudder while ferrying settlers from Skyrim to Solstheim. The ship drifted into a gale and was sunk. The only survivors were Thormoor and a man whose entire family was killed in the shipwreck.
30 | The only other survivor of the shipwreck, a warlock and seer named Geilir the Mumbling, has cursed Thormoor with eternal wakefulness. Thormoor hasn't slept since the ship was lost, and that was over six months ago. If I can find some way to convince Geilir to lift the curse, Thormoor will finally be able to get some rest. If I do this for Thormoor, he'll share with me a valuable secret he learned when he was a ship captain.
40 | I convinced Geilir the Mumbling to remove Thormoor's curse of eternal wakefulness.
50 | Thormoor Gray-Wave was very grateful I was able to remove the curse of eternal wakefulness. Now he can barely keep his eyes open, and is going to his room at the Thirsk mead hall to sleep. I am to meet him there to collect my reward.
100 | I met Thormoor at Thirsk, and he granted my reward. He told me of Gyldenhul Barrow, located on an island off the northeast coast of Solstheim. The barrow is filled with riches, and I can have it all. The door is heavily locked, but Thormoor has given me the key. He also marked the entrance of the dungeon on my map. |

10 | I told Thormoor Gray-Wave about Geilir the Mumbling's death. Now Thormoor's curse can never be lifted, and he is doomed to spend the rest of his days watching the sea, too exhausted to do anything else. |
