Gidar Verothan is a Dark Elf commoner, and leader of the three men you will escort to Raven Rock. You find him waiting at the docks south of Fort Frostmoth.
He is wearing a common shirt with matching pants and shoes. Aside from his natural resistance to fire and the sanctuary provided by his ancestors, he knows no spells.

Quest-Related DialogueEdit
Establish the MineEdit
Before (?):
- "Sorry, %PCRace. Can't talk right now: we're waiting for our escort to Raven Rock. Go see Carnius Magius in the shrine if you need something." Goodbye
After getting the first assignment his greeting will change:
- "So you're the escort? Well, fine. Let me know when you're ready to go."
- ready to go
- "Garmin, Sabinus and I need to get to the site so we can start work. Can we leave, or do you need more time?"
-
- I'm ready. Let's go.
- "All right then. We all voted, and decided that you get to take the lead. None of us are particularly fond of the woods - I'm not saying we're cowards, mind you - and we felt that you'd be better off leading the way. I can at least mark the spot on your map, so you know which way to head. Lead on!" Goodbye
-
- Wait, I need more time.
- "Well, hurry it up. We can't stay here forever, else we'll get Carnius mad. Trust me, you don't want to see him when he's mad." Goodbye
If spoken to during the journey to Raven Rock:
- "Is there a problem? I thought you were ready to go." / "What's the hold up? We're ready to go, so let's keep moving."
- ready to go
- "We're still headed for Raven Rock, right?"
-
- Wait here.
- "You're kidding, aren't you? We'll be eaten alive if we stay here! ....I hope you know what you're doing. Hurry back, okay?" Goodbye
-
- Follow me.
- "Gladly. Let's go." Goodbye
When you arrive at Raven Rock:
- "Well, we've made it here in one piece. Thanks for the effort, %PCName. Perhaps we'll run into each other again." Goodbye
If spoken to again:
- "Thanks again for the escort. If you'll excuse me, I have a lot of work to do."
- ready to go
- "What? You've already helped us get here: where else would we go?"
Missing Supply ShipEdit
He can be spoken to about the missing supply ship but won't offer any useful information:
- seen anything
- "What? No, I don't know anything about a ship."
Setting up ShopEdit
- decision
- "Hmm. I don't know that I really care either way, to be honest. I guess I'd have to say a Trader would be better to have, since I could buy all sorts of things there."
Hiring GuardsEdit
- hire guards
- "Good luck with that. I'm afraid you won't see me volunteering. I have enough to do, thank you very much."
