This article is about the game mode. For the places, see Arenas. For the questline, see Arena (questline).
The Arena is a game mode where you battle against other players in real-time, one-on-one combat in a best-of-three match. When you queue up for a match, the game will search for an opponent of to pair you with. You cannot change your equipment or potion/poison during rounds, as you will only have the option to do so in-between rounds or before queuing for a match. You will also only be able to use one potion or poison each round. Although fighting in the Arena does degrade your equipment, all damage to your gear's condition is applied after the match has concluded. There is also an option to repair broken gear in the Arena menu, saving the need to go to your smithy and back. Arena mode is also the only place you can use your emotes, given that you are outside of combat. The victory screen after you have won a match will allow you to do one emote before both players receive their rewards. If one player wins the first two rounds, the match will end immediately without a third. Every Arena match, win or lose, grants you some Gold and some XP, with victorious matches awarding more.
Victory TokensEdit
Every victorious round will earn you a Victory Token . Every 8 you earn will award you a chest. When an opponent concedes, you will still gain tokens as if they had lost the current/upcoming round.
TrophiesEdit
Trophies are the measure of your ranking in the Arena. You begin with 0 , which places you at Tier 1 of arena 1, the Old Arena. As you gain trophies by winning games, you will progress to higher tiers and, eventually, higher arena levels. Each new tier has a reward, with Tier 1 of a each arena level granting you some of the best items. Although you can lose trophies by losing Arena matches, your personal record will be saved. You cannot fall back into a previous arena level and any tier rewards cannot be earned more than once. The Leaderboard is calculated by number of trophies and wins earned by players.
