Destane is a Breton who appears in Town after Gabrielle's Treasure has been completed, he will introduce himself as Destane Guylves, a treasure hunter. During the quest he will reveal himself to really be Destane Larouche, the brother of Gabrielle Larouche.

"Hello, there. You must be the town champion I've heard so much about. Rumors of your exploits have spread as far as the Reach! My name is Destane Guylves. I'm a treasure hunter."

Any of the options lead to:

"I would like your help. My research suggests this area is rich with Ayleid ruins. I've even found mention of Dwemer ruins in the area! They would be the first ones discovered in all of Cyrodiil. I'll feel much safer with you along. I don't know what we'll find, but there must be something! What say you?"

I'll go with you.

"Splendid! We'll head out when you are ready."

"Ah... well... I'll be in the area quite some time. So many ruins to plunder! But I'll have to go slowly since I'm on my own. If you ever feel like hunting for secrets and treasure, I'd appreciate the company."

If spoken to again if you refused to help:

"Hello, again. Have you reconsidered my offer? Will you come looking for artifacts with me?"

If spoken to again if you offered to help:

"What's that face for? Let's go! The ruins await!"

When met up with at the ruins:

"This is the first spot I wanted to check. It's been written about, so it's probably empty. But we'll see!"

If spoken to again:

"Lead on! I'll be right behind you."

At the end of the quest, he will speak to you before attacking you:

"I can see why my sister was not able to defeat you. You have killed my friends and all my summons..."

If you want to fight, let's go.

"My real name is Destane Larouche. We're here to settle a score."
