Detailed WalkthroughEdit
Watchtower RivalriesEdit
You can receive this quest from either of the commanding officers of the Bruma Eastern and Western Watchtowers, who are having something of a feud. In the east, Ereia Snow-Fist dismisses Garceus as an old man stuck in his ways and chafes at her current posting out of the limelight. Tasking you with recovering a bandit leader's enchanted sword is her ticket to career advancement. In the west, Garceus Avoci thinks Ereia a brash upstart and wants you to bring back the cutpurse's sword to improve morale at the watchtower.
A Blade for my Tower... or my Career!Edit
Travel to Dragonclaw Rock, where you will find a band of six bandits, including an archer, a mage and the bandit leader, carrying his enchanted sword. Once you've taken it off his corpse, you will be approached by a Bruma guard from the opposing garrison to the quest giver, who asks you to take the sword to their commander instead. You now have three options: delivering the sword to Ereia, to Garceus or keeping it for yourself. The first two options net you a sum of leveled gold, the latter lets you keep the sword. Threatening Ereia to keep the sword and then handing it over will net you a slightly higher sum of leveled gold.
Levels | Reward (Standard) |
Reward (Threatening Ereia) |
---|---|---|
1–9 | 250 | 400 |
10–19 | 400 | 600 |
20–29 | 500 | 800 |
30–39 | 600 | 1,000 |
40+ | 750 | 1,200 |
NotesEdit
- If Captain Adius is arrested by the Thalmor at the end of Service Rewarded, whomever you chose to give the sword to will be promoted to Bruma guard captain.
- If you kept the sword for yourself or left the quest unfinished before Adius is arrested, Garceus Avoci will nominally become the guard captain, though this is impacted by bugs.
- If you did not start this quest before Service Rewarded is completed, you can still do so as normal by speaking to either Ereia or Garceus.

- The following empty quest stages were omitted from the table: 0, 25, 200.
- Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g.,
<Alias=LocationHold>
) is dynamically set by the Radiant Quest system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game. - Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
- If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
- On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering
setstage CYRBrumaWatchtowersFF01 stage
, wherestage
is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages, but it is possible to clear all stages of the quest usingresetquest CYRBrumaWatchtowersFF01
